WHen i first tried flaxseed oil, i thought "how bad could it be?" and downed a tablespoon full, boy was that a mistake, i had to drink tons fo milk and water just to stop myself from chucking....i have some joint pain sometimes due to my physical job and working out and i heard a few tbsp of flaxseed oil per day can really help.
I've tried mixing it with some oatmeal/whey protein, but i could even finish the shake it tastes so nasty...
Any suggestions on how to ingest that much flax seed oil without tasting it at all?

First of all, not to be rude at all, but toughen up, it is not that bad. I like to mix mine with red wine vinegar, and pour it over a 300g salad, with tuna. Remember is a fat, so you do not want to take it with carbs.
Gagging because of the taste of something is not a matter of being "tough" at all....everyone's taste is different and if i tried to down 1 or 2 tbsp of the stuff i would probably puke, and it would be no good to me anyways...when i tried it the first time, i could still taste it and it made me wanna puke when i burped later on, i can't stand the sh!t.
I will try the red wine vinegar on salad, see if that gets rid of the taste at all...

Why don't you just mix it with a protein shake? For a while, my bedtime shake was 2 tablespoons of flax oil with chocolate micellean protein. The flax oil actually improved the texture, and I think the shake tasted even better than plain protein powder.

I've tried it in a whey protein shake it it was disgusting...the only thing i can handle is a little ground up flax seeds in big shake with oatmeal, eggs, fruit, etc...but i've heard the oil is better/different than the ground seeds...Currently bulking...goal 3lbs+ increase every month.

If you're serious about your health and are willing to try something else, http://www.iherb.com/norcodliver.html, cod liver oil is a better source of EPA then flax oil and this brand tastes better IMO too. EPA is what helps the joints. It is still an oil but has a very light lemon taste. Some people just have trouble taking oils peroid.

that's what i said..the only problem with cod liver oil is that the burps taste like rank 10 day old fish that's been sitting in the sun for a few days..haha..good stuff though..i take it that and flax together.
i usually get the dale alexander formula from twinlabs. mint flavored of course..that stuff rules."The more sand that has escaped from the hourglass of our life, the clearer we should see through it."

okay I guess I can understand that not everyone has taste buds like me, and can chew on cardboard and feel like it is filet mignon, but just keep one thing ing mind, when taking in a healthy fat such as cod liver oil, flax oil, PB, etc... make sure you keep scarbs to a minimun, it is optimal to keep the active number of carbs below 10.

simply thow a tblspn of it to the back of your mouth while closing your throat with the back of your tounge and gulp down some water in the same gulp..you wont taste it at all."The more sand that has escaped from the hourglass of our life, the clearer we should see through it."

Is it good?
Another trick that works great is to put straight fish oil in a shot glass with diet coke or diet dr. pepper. Goes down easy. If you are dead set on flax oil for some reason, make sure you have tried Barlean's and not a bad tasting generic brand. Makes a lot of difference. Add splenda to it also.
Or try www.iherb.com for a wide selection of fish oil pills (pills mean greater concentration of epa/dha vs. the oil). Some of the more expensive brands have > 50% epa/dha content. NOW brand is very cheap (something like 10 cents per gram epa/dha or something). Our kind has never been seen before.

We will never be seen again.

why don't you try taking the flaxseed oil capsules??
i don't understand what the big deal with the taste is.
I have consiered the capsules, but i would have to take around 8 per day to get the server i want (a few tbsp) and that gets very expensive, it woul dbe much cheaper if i found a way to take it in liquid form...
