Hi all,
I recently read an article with some example exercises that went like:
Mid-incline Hammer Curl: 4 x 8-10 @ 4-0-2-0, 60's.
I can guess the 4 x 8-10 is 4 sets of 8-10 reps, and the 60's is the rest period between sets, but can anyone think what the 4-0-2-0 part means? Just trying to understand bodybuilding lingo a bit more.
Thanks

A simple google search lead me to this:
Tempo: For long-range movements such as squats, dips, and chins, use a 4-0-2 tempo; this means you would lower the weight in four seconds and immediately change direction and lift for two seconds. For movements such as curls and triceps extensions, use a 3-0-2 tempo.
