Already mentioned in this thread, but your dad passed away, she must be totally lost, and shows it the wrong way. Not trying to find an excuse for her behavior at all, there is nothing she can do to make up for that.

I mean, similar things (less serious though) happened to one of my friends, she went to be checked by a psychologist and was diagnosed bipolar, she needed some medication, etc.

Was she very close to your father? Was she more a daddys girl? I suspect his death could have completely sent her off the rails. My friend, his mother committed suicide when he was twelve and he wasn't the same after that,always getting in trouble . Or if that wasn't the case,maybe the lack of father is allowing her to play up. She needs discipline or else she will end up sitting in a council flat or a bed and breakfast on benefits a single mother.Because eventually you mum will have had enough and kicked her out ,and she will have to go to the local council and declare herself homeless.

I have seen this before. If someone doesn't grip her now, that is where she will end up. I have seen it happen to girls or lads from middle class families, they get in with the wrong people, do drugs and too much booze,and become unliveable with. She needs to be gripped quickly as 14 is only two years away from school leaving age and she needs the stable environment of school at least.

I would suggest whether you mum wants to get her in trouble or not, you speak to whoever is investigating this, social services ,police etc and let them know what has been going on. I would also suggest, doing your best as an older brother to get involved with her life while you can. The boyfriend is older, he will want sex, and she has shown how off the wall she is. No way should she have an older boyfriend as she will end up up the duff. You need to warn him off, if needs be report him to the Police and say he is fuking her under age even if he isn't, anything to make his life a misery. Get your mum to speak to his parents.

You need to get her some counselling about your dad as well.She might even need a spell in a adolescent unit for an assessment with her mental health. I would be very much against social services placing her in a secure unit or approved school, because I happen to know she will end up getting in with the worst of the worst. She goes to one of those places, she will probably end up insitutions all her life.
