??? Reliable Accurate HOME Use Body Fat Monitor??? Is there one?

I have the Omron Body Fat Loss Monitor model HBF-306C
but its all over the place and yes I know how to use it and when to use it.

Im just hoping someone knows of a better unit other than calipers or water test

not worried about price as much as consistency

Nope. From what I can tell, they all pretty much suck. I use a withings scale and it's fairly consistent. No idea if it's accurate, though.

Bioelectric impedance is the most inaccurate chit ever. Is there a reason you NEED to check your bf%? If you're progressing in your lifts + losing weight = getting leaner. Common sense and consistency is more accurate. However, if you MUST track your bf% do it every morning with calipers then get an average per week + measurements.

None. And calipers are prone to user error

    Use the mirror.

That is the one I use and I would recommend. It seems to get the general reading right. Every time I use it, it stays very consistent. If I see a 3lb loss on the scale in 2 weeks. I mathematically figure out what percentage that was each time of my body weight, and that thing is usually spot on.

You aren't going to find much of anything more accurate than that. Nothing but a water-immersion density test is going to be accurate to the T. They all will be off and have some flaws.

    kool, thanx

i put numbers on a worksheet and calculate a weekly average to eliminate the peaks and valleys of the readings. it just seems that my fat is going up yet my lifts are increasing and my total weight is the same or slighty less, so for the last couple weeks it doesnt seem accurate. I might try need batteries or put it away and concentrate more on wo and diet then the numbers.

    Thanx

Bi-weekly progress pics (combined with monitoring the scale to see your rate of gain) will probably be your best bet in seeing if you're putting on fat too quickly.
