The tricep extension was next. Very small footprint compared to my hammer mts tricep. Speaking of the hammer, these are very similar machines, but with a few subtle differences in adjustment and positioning. The nautilus has a more elbows up position, and the adjustments are very good. I found a comfortable correct position easily. The movement of the nautilus is super smooth, smoother than the mts likely because of the lack of pulleys and weight stacks. I really liked this machine. If the bicep is as good and puts me into a similar elbows up position, I would really consider it for my gym as my main bicep machine. If I came across a good deal on both bi and tri I would grab them.

Looks like Nautilus is sticking to the original Arthur Jones triceps machine design in regards to the elbow up position. I very much like the old Nautilus triceps and biceps machines. When doing Nautilus triceps extensions I feel deep stretch in my triceps due to the elbow up position. The biceps machine has elbows raised too and also gives good stretch.

I'm a big fan of my old nautilus multis too. There is a nice pair of them on ebay right now, they look about as mint as you can find them and last i saw bidding was less than $500 each. I hope someone here grabs them, definetly still best of the best.

IRONGYM.. i do agree with ya about the vertical xpload chest.. i have the xpload dip (awesome) xpload chest (i really like it.. but still have a aggrav ated shoulder from a surgery i am working around.. but great piece.. i too dont like a lot of pres stretch) and the xpload shoulder.. i ilike them all .. better than the hammer strength i have had in the past..

I talked with Chris earlier, he finished with the PowerLift demo. He got to demo every piece of selectorized and every piece of plateload gear that PowerLift offers. His thoughts should be interesting. I was a little surprised at some of his opinions. He thinks that he will pick up one piece for sure and maybe two or three others.

Next stop, Cleveland to demo the David line.

I tried the selectorized version a few weeks ago as well. I liked the adjustability of the bench and use of the lower handles to emulate a slight decline bench press like this one:

That's pretty nice looking. I like the size. I've been pretty gungho on a hammer chest but maybe I should consider my options before I invest, eh?

YES the vertical.. good machine.. i hate to sell mine but i am limited on the chest work i can do.. very mild convergence on the chest piece..

A couple months ago, someone was selling that Xpoad Chest Press on Craigers for 100 bucks. Looked to be in great shape too. They were in San Fran and I almost took a trip up there to get it, BUT, the 13 hour round trip didnt seem so good that day!

The trips never seem like a lot of fun going into them, but once you get home with a nice piece of equipment at a great price you won't regret it. I don't think there are any trips I regret taking, only deals I regret missing.

I definitely agree ND, Ive taken many trips. Take a look - https://www.********.com/media/set/?...9608830&type=3 . That day though, must not have been worth it for whatever reason. Im glad I didnt go though actually cause I ended up with a Chest Press Im pretty sure I like more.

Do you have an original Nautilus compound bicep? Or an omni- bicep? The nautilus Xpload bicep looks awesome too.

if you have a somewhat prononced valgus at the elbow, you will never find a good biceps machine.
I got the idea of modification from a Nautilus prototype. By removing the handles, I can bring my hands where they want to go, not where the machine wants to bring them.

the old cybex ain't bad on the shoulders. The foot lever means you never have to reach back too far to get started.
