I need a protein shake that won't upset my stomach

Hi everyone, a little bit about me:

I'm 29 years old, an extreme hard gainer. I'm 6'4" and about 185 (currently). I can lose weight easily but I can't gain at all.

Long story short, I'm trying to put on the muscle. I upped my calorie intake to 2,500-3,000 a day and focused on short, intense multi-joint exercises. I tried to hit the 4,000 calorie threshold with MyoPlex meal replacements (two a day) and after a while my stomach protested (pretty bad). My doctor said it's probably a lactose intolerance reaction and told me to lay off. So I quit those and tried just regular whey protein shakes. They devastated me as well, so I quit taking protein shakes altogether.

My question is: is there anything on the market that is just straight-up protein? I am never going to meet my protein requirements (about 200g/day) if I have to stuff my face with food constantly because I just don't have the appetite or time.

I am really willing to try stuff but it has to be something that won't upset my stomach/GI tract. Someone suggest vegan-friendly protein powder.

Also, has anyone experienced this reaction before?

    Thanks in advance,

    MPK

i believe sci-fit protalyn is geared towards lactose intolerance and I'm not sure if the sale is still going on but it was bogo. Check it out. http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/sf/prota-lyn.html

Try using an isolate and see if that makes a difference.

Several different companies offer them at varying qualities and prices.

Not a fan of the Dym isolates due to them being ion exchange.

Allmax Isoflex is a very popular isolate though.

I have the same problem. Optimum Whey doesn't bother my stomach. It also has enzymes for digestion!

Scivation Whey would be a great option to aid for those who need a powder that is cheap, effective, and settles easy on the stomach. Lactose Free and can be found for 56$ for 10lbs! All of the flavors were recently improved and reformulated after the prior backorder and the feedback has been nothing short of spectacular. 1g of fat/carb and 22g of protein per scoop its a deal you should consider over dumping more money into isolates.
