Who cares how someone looks at a gym, if you are worried about what people think then you have a weak mind. The only thing that makes sense is when people are stretching out by the racks etc. I recently on my last rep racked 280lbs really loud by this bitches head for being so stupid..she still didn't move. **** em! your there to work, **** everyone else.

As a gym owner, who offers every new member an orientation combined with a free personal training session, I strongly encourage them to go and even follow up to find out what other incentives I can offer them to attend. During that orientation, my staff, in the most diplomatic way, goes over these very rules and also encourages them to come to management when they running into these rule breakers.

I am going to have to disagree with you about the "grunting". I am not saying that I am grunting every rep on every set, but when rep 7-10 come around on a heavy weight that I am introducing or working hard that day I find it really helps me. When I grunt on the heavier lifts it allows me to obtain more oxygen, as well as just pushing myself as hard as I can.
I am only in the gym for an hour or so, so if I want to ****ing grunt, I am going to do what it takes to get those extra reps for the results I desire.
I am not trying to impress women or 1 up anyone at the gym, I am there for myself and I am respectful at the gym. But when I am busting my ass I am not going to set limits or rules to how I sound.
This is just how I feel, but I know some people will disagree. But if you are not doing all you can do in the short time you are at the gym, then you arn't working hard enough. As athletes, we're used to reacting quickly. Here, it's 'come, stop, come, stop.' There's a lot of downtime. That's the toughest part of the day. - Michael Jordan

Gym etiquette
I was at the gym one early morning just about to get into a full on workout, this middle aged dude plonks his arse down on a bench next to where I was warming up. He lays down on the bench side ways, doing some kind o weight excersise. Don't know what he was trying to do. I just happened to glance past him and caught a full on look of his nuts hanging out of the side of his shorts.... Man I was finished after that. Didn't do S*** and went home.

i could not disagree with you more. not every girl goes to the gym to socialize. at my gym a lot of girls and women are there every day busting there asses off. For example, i bring my sister in the off season of basketball and she puts in 100%. she leaves her cell phone in the car and only talks to me and concentrates on the lift. Even though there are girls that go to socialize you cannot say that all of them do."When you want to succeed as bad as you want to breath, then you'll be successful"
