Why would there be APAP? Most 'codiene' pills don' get apap added to them they just add codiene to apap in small amounts. Even so op could pop 10 of them and only get 300 mg of APAP which isn't even a tylenol extra strength

Ceiling dose for most people is around 400-500 mg so beyond that you won't have any effects because the enzyme your liver releases to break the codeine down into morphine runs out at about that amount. Some peoples ceiling is higher than others however.

Seems hardly an accepted truth based on that link.

Anyway, even if conversion is limited, I believe the codiene itself is pharmacologically active as well (although less so), so I wouldn't hang my hat on any supposed ceiling effect to prevent OD. Opiate overdose is srs business.
