    Bananas IN oats

(and don't forget to mix in a cooked yam in there as well, add cinnamon, natural peanut butter, honey or maple syrup and some nuts. Also, make sure your oatmeal is made with milk, salt and butter, not water. Enjoy your food! Don't be gay)

    Food > supplements.

Food has antioxidant qualities and micronutrient density that supplements don't have. Supplements are over-priced chemical **** that give you gas and bloating. It appears that people are slowly beginning to catch up to supplement companies BS.

food takes longer to digest so dont u lose that "window opportunity" after a hard workout since ur body is craving for nutrients

    That is not true ^^^

The whole "window" thing has been debunked many times already. It usually comes from studying FASTED trainees. So of course they need nutrients. But guys like you and me have aminos in our blood from the meals earlier in the day even after we finished working out...

And one would be hard pressed to name a supplement that hits your blood faster than egg whites. Egg whites take about 10 minutes to start givin you the good stuff. Faster than whey.

Are you sure? Because as far as I know, eggs are similar to meat protien (somewhere between whey & casein), and the total digestion time for a sample of protein is approximately as follows:

    whey: 30 minutes
    egg: 1.5-3 hours
    meat: 4 hours
    casein: 6-7 hours

In terms of elevating plasma amino acid levels whey is the fastest.

I love the PWO fruit threads. It's the same process every single time.

Question about fruit PWO -> Someone wrongly discounts fruit as a PWO choice because it only refills liver glycogen -> Someone corrects them by saying it isn't stored exclusively in the liver, nor does the body use muscle glycogen exclusively during training.

    Every time.

Incorrect. Within 5-15 minutes after ingestion of whey, aminos are picked up in systemic circulation.

So all this malto dextrin and dextrose is just junk? how about whey protein? i still make shakes with my simple carbs and whey protein.

Should I jsut make them for convenience if i NEED to and if i CAN then I should make myself chicken/rice or eggs or something instead?

malto and dex are "fancy carbs", they are not needed unless you do several hard sessions per day. Just go home and make meat and potatoes

Yes, if you can you should have real food. Supplements are just that, they supplement your diet when you got no time to chew or something.

I would consider something like Karbolyn or Vitargo fancy carbs.

Powdered oats are better than maltodextrin and waxy maize. You get a bunch of goodies in the oats and you can throw em in anything. Big deal they're a little gritty/chunky... quit being a girly man and slam em
