Is it because they find better security with the smaller guy and they would be worried they'd lose the bigger guy to a 10/10 girl? Or is it because he would punish her harder if she came out of the kitchen?

I train newbie boxers. The huge hulking guys take beatings from 170 pound guys.. They're not especially alpha in the hunter gatherer sense, I feel.
Women want what is seen as sexy from the rest of society, as well as what biologically ticks them.

its not that woman dislike muscles, it is more to do with the fact that most are facially ugly. That is reality, simply having muscles does not make you good looking, however most woman do like well built pretty boys like:
