Been using the 5 hour energy in the black bottle as of recently but it gets expensive. No explode has made me sick before any type of cardio session. Any recommendations for something pre workout for mma. I'm lifting 2 to 3 days a week right now too. Have some samples of white flood coming which I'm excited to try. Can it work for both

Anything containing Beta Alanine, such as the suggested White Flood or ASGT. For MMA purposes, a good stim won't be beneficial enough (and too much stim causes vasoconstriction, thus, decreased blood flow [decreased O2, decreased nutrients, decreased flushing of toxins build up from working muscles] anyway) but Beta Alanine, as contained in WF and ASGT have the potential to increase your lactate threshold, which put simply and skipping undue details, will allow you to exert maximal force for a longer period of time. BA increases carnosine, carnosine buffers H+, H+ is the byproduct of adenosintriphosphate, which is the molecule your muscles break down to exert force. The build up of H+ (positive hydrogen ion) creates a choke of O2 in the muscle, and thus, is a premier factor of the numbing, inability to contract.
When you roll, you're going through bouts of total body muscle endurance and bursts of force, usually from the hips. The BA can help you with the muscle endurance and general stamina. I'd go with White Flood or ASGT, they'd both suffice. ASGT is having a buy two get one free sale at the moment, but White Flood is less costly in general and I personally think it tastes pretty good.
I like creatine for assisting in striking, TD/TDD's and sweeps. The added ATP keeps your force production high (though power would come primarily from plyo's & O-lifts training and not so much supps).Last edited by VolcomX311; 09-20-2010 at 02:23 PM.
