WTF I cant sleep, am I overtraining??

Sorry Im not 35 but everywhere else I would just get a bunch of bullshiit answers from trolls.

Anyways, for the last two weeks every single night I go to sleep I always wake up somewhere between 5-6 hours after I went to sleep and then I cant go back to bed. I feel sluggish all day and it really affects me at school and work. Strangely it hasn't affected my performance in the gym.

I have been working out for 8 months now, I eat anywhere between 3000-4000 calories a day, and Im doing a simple 4 day split which looks like this.

    Mon:
    Squat
    BB Rows
    Leg curls
    Lat Pulldowns
    Machine rows

    Tues:
    DB Bench
    Standing Overhead Press
    BB Incline Bench
    Tricep Pulldown things
    Some calf work

    Wed:
    OFF

    Thurs:
    Deadlift
    PullUps/Chinups
    Leg Press
    Shrugs
    Bicep Curls

    Fri:
    OFF

    Sat:
    DB incline Bench
    Seated DB shoulder press
    Dips
    Calf work

    Sun:
    OFF

I do 4 sets, on the compound lifts I do 5 reps and on the isolation exercises I do 8-12 reps.

Anyone have any idea whats causing me not to sleep? I have no problems falling asleep, just waking up 5-6 hours after. I have taken off 9 days in my 8 months and I have missed a day or two here or there

You're sleeping for 5 or 6 hours. That does not sound like insomnia to me. Somethings to check if you feel like you are not sleeping enough is caffeine and stimulant intake. Are you taking any NO products? These can really jack you up. Coffee can do the same, as can energy drinks.

I feel lucky when I get 5-6 hours. 8 hours (imo) is on the high side for hours needed. I could easily sleep 8 hours when I was 254 lbs. At 172 lbs, either don't need it, or body doesn't want it. Either way, I haven't felt tired in about 18 months.

i refuse to accept a 22 year old can overtrain, especially on your routine. not to minimize your efforts, but it looks like a decent routine, nothing over the top.

doubt this thing called overtraining exists at all in the mortal world.

sleep issues can be complex. i would think your problems lie elsewhere. if you work out at night, that could be an issue. i can't sleep after a night workout.
