I got lazy, then I get complacent. It snowballs from there.

I did not take care of my body. I made poor choices and ignored the results. I happened to me and I made myself fat. Now I am making myself fit. I will not allow anyone to tell me that I am getting fit due to any particular thing, it is myself who is making this transformation happen, why would I let anyone else take credit? The same goes for how I got fat, it was me and I will not let it happen again.

Drinking way too much soda. 2-4 cans / day.
Eating very large meals 2-3 times / day and when I say Large.. I'm talking half a medium pizza, 10 wings and some snack and a coke.
And just eating unhealthy fats, too many carbs and at very random hours. When I'm fat my pants don't fit, When I lose weight my pants don't fit.. maybe I should stop wearing pants?

I snacked too much while playing video games. It got pretty bad because I was never into sports as a kid as an hour spent running would send me screaming in pain due to extremely flat feet I was born with. So yeah, too much food and minimal exercise. Freshman year I added a stern 30-40 and probably ended up around 320.

How the hell can you play a video game for 14 hours a day? I used to be a pretty heavy gamer and still purchase a game probably every 2 months for PS3, but I don't think its a possibility for 14hrs!

always used to be fat, bet then I lost all my weight around 14 years old. I think I did so well because I was in such a great environment with friends and family that made life great. things changed and I no longer had that great environment with friends and family, then I became a recluse (though I didn't have to, I had a ton of friends and a pretty GF) because I guess I was just disappointed with my surroundings. I got up to about 315-320 lbs then lost it again. being a recluse did some damage though, it kind of deadened my sense of humor. I used to be a funny ass guy, lol.

Although i have been very active as far as moving around, and keeping myself busy, eating a lot of food all the time didnt help one bit. I used to drink 2-3 sodas a day, eat fast food once a day and sometimes again at midnight during hours of videogaming.
I was always fat as a kid, parents made nothing but crap food and thats all i ever knew, my brother ate the same stuff and even worse and he is a twig, so im assuming genetics play a role to a degree (metabolism). However its ones own fault and responsibility to control it and fix it.There is always someone less fortunate, with real hunger, with real adversity, who made something of themselves. What is your excuse?

In high school I walked everywhere... often. Like all day was spent walking. I got a car after high school, but ended up getting a job in a factory and packed on 20 lbs of muscle. I landed an engineering internship 2 years later, and it was all down hill from there. More money than ever so I was eatng out every day, sitting at my desk plowing through boxes of triscuits and bags of gardettos. I went from a firm 170 to a puffy 240 in about 4 years. I didn't even notice until I saw a picture!
Lost my job after 3 years and started working in a factory. Within 3 months I went from 240 to 205. Got another engineering gig and bounced back up to 218. I am holding steady around 210 now that I am working out.

I made friends with a girl who was 100 pounds overweight and would not do active things so to be friends I did what she wanted which amounted to restaurant meals and snacking in front of movies
for the FIRST TIME IN MY ENTIRE LIFE (never had a weight problem before) I gained 22 pounds
watch out who you hang with------it's easy to go along with the flow and eat too muchhave hand injury -sorry for so many typos

First 2 1/2 months of college, this was my dinner 5 nights of the week.
1 - Large Domino's Pepperoni Thin Crust Pizza
1 - Domino's Cheese Bread
12 - Domino's Buffalo Wings
1 - 2 ltr. Pepsi
This on top of fried food and soda for lunch at the dining hall every day and the lack of exercise (none).
Gained 45 lbs from August 25th to Thanksgiving
Lost it all back, then 4 years later I was back in the same situation, this time due to gas station food, not working out, playing NHL 09, etc...
Lost most of that back, then ended up at the same high weight another year later. Same reasons.
On the way back down again this time. I know it's not going to happen again, because not only do I care about my weight/appearance, but I care about my overall health, which I never did before. I just want to feel better now.

- ate too much
- drank too much
- moved too little
- a piss-poor self image
i'm at 210 pounds, the lightest I have been since high school, and still I don't really feel I look different than I did at 292. I'm obviously smaller and healthier ... but on the bad days I don't really feel any different. Wild.
I fight it every day.

Got up to a soft 235lbs last year, simply by eating too fkin much. I think it was the combination of 2 meals in particular...I discovered Indian food at my new job and loved this Chicken Tika Masala lunch special they had and I would eat it often. That chicken in sauce, plus rice, plus bread was probably like 1200 calories alone. Then dinner was often a Rotisserie chicken with rice, probably another 1000 calories.
Then sometimes I would eat 2 plain donuts for breakfast.
The funny thing is at the time I still thought I was eating pretty healthy!Iron. Boxing. NFL. Mob stuff. New York City breed.

I was not excercising at all. I was eating fast food, soda, and fried foods like crazy, and did not care how it impacted my life. I got absolutely no sleep, and hadnt drank an ounce of water for the longest time. Having a girlfriend at the time that was depressed and ate even worse than I did certainly didn't help things. I think, truly, I had no self confidence, and at that point, didn't care if I looked fat. More importantly, I didn't realize that I was hurting my health. When I broke up with that girl, and started dating again I started to lose weight. What started with hiking and jogging turned into spending time at the gym. The weight started melting off, and now I am hooked! I could have never imagined I would go from being 265, all the way down to 175 lbs.

I can tell you the exact moment in time where it went started, in 3rd grade, I had straight A's in elementary school always did everything prompt and on time, in the 3rd grade I legit forgot a peice of homework and when I told the teacher she didn't mind and gave me an extension. After realizing that my fear of not turning in home work wasn't what I thought it would be it spiraled down into complete lazyness never did homework never tried anything. Just played video games and ate terrible meals all the time. Then everquest and world of warcraft hit the market and I spent days glued to the computer. I let myself get this way and i'm fixing it. Never wanna look for cloths in the big and tall section again.
