I dont know if im big boned or not..I dont think I am..but my rib cage from the side view sticks out when im below 120lbs. Many people have said comments to me like "why are you sucking in your gut/tummy so much or hard" and really im not! THAT's how much my rib cage sticks out..
Also a while back when really lean..my dad gave me a hug goodbye from a visit and felt my rib cage and told me I needed to eat.
YET...my BUTT/thighs have a bit of fat on them..
Yes I lift on my lats..i still have rib poking out in back and under where my breasts are. In order for the butt to go I have to get this lean where bones are sticking out. Unless I can get more mass on my back.

Hmmm, maybe it's just a bodybuilding thing. When I flex and do a double bicep pose I notice I can see my ribs really well in the front. My body fat% is pretty high I'm sure, so I always found this funny. Can't see them if I'm just standing there though. Same with me though I have plenty on the butt/thigh area, lol.
To add some mass on your lower back I'd do some heavy deadlifts if you don't already. That WILL put some "meat" on your back if you do them correctly and go for heavy wt/lower reps.Current PRs:
Bench Press: 200x1
Deads: 315x1
Back Squats: 275x1

I second this I also have a large rib cage that use to stick out when relaxed, though I had more fat on my body than I do now. I built up my abs doing weighted ab work and no longer have that issue. Some people say you don't need to train abs but until I did my abs were not really there(and I do do heavy compound lifts), the area was hard but no definition at all...the weighted work made my abs pop and hid the ribs.

I have a thick rib cage, and my ribs are very noticable no matter what my weight. It limits my ability to wear cute little empire cut tops and dresses, but other than that, I don't really care. It also helps create the illusion of great abs when I'm very lean, and decent abs when I'm fluffy.

I have this same thing...so weird I always wondered why I always looked emaciated in the rib area but still had fat on my stomach. It does look pretty gross at low bf%, but I still need to build the muscle underneath. It gets pretty gross on my back too when I can feel them sticking out. Oh well, just have to get that muscle up!
Thanks for posting it!
