Shocked. I lurked and read on ironaddicts forum for years. Wes was a fountain of information and real ahead of his time in my opinion. Dam I'm gonna miss his stuff. Feel real bad for his family and friends. Don't understand it. Darkness lurks within even the strongest of people. RIP Wes

Wes is gone. There was nothing scandalous behind it. It took everyone by surprise and left a very devastated family. Those closest know the details. And that is all that matters. He was one of my closest friends and mentor. And he will be deeply missed. He was hurting more than many knew. I wish he could have understood what he meant to so many.

There is a memorial set up to send monies to an animal shelter. Wes loved animals. You can find out more on his site.

Thanks Shawn. I don't believe most of those who followed him believe anything scandalous, just know that life doesn't always play fair. I didn't know Wes very well; we talked on a couple occasions, but the news still hit me really hard. There aren't many good folks in the world nowadays, I really believe Wes was one of those folks. Just sucks.

I learned of this news yesterday and am still in shock. Wes's site is the only lifting site I even bothered with, and I was on there almost every day for the last 3.5 years. His knowledge really changed the way I approached lifting. He was an extremely smart person and had a lot to contribute on many subjects besides training.

I didn't know him personally, but based on his posts and articles, he seemed like the last person I would ever expect to commit suicide. I didn't want to speculate, but the ******** link posted above is pretty compelling.

There is nothing on the suicide ******** page as of now, the other ******** link was to a non-existent profile, the youtube link was broken, the IA forum link was blocked.
I'm 99% certain Wesley Silveira did not commit suicide, stop spreading the rumor.(In misc lingo, pics or it didn't happen.)

I am at a loss for words right now. I have been walking around in a daze all week. I can't do a damn thing without thinking about Wes b/c everything I do, workouts, meals, everything, he set up for me. He is greatly missed, not as much for his knowledge as for the person that he was. The WORLD has lost a good man. He was loved by more than he realized I'm sure.

Its so sad to hear this happen, it just happened out of nowhere like... boooom. If i had to guess his cause of death i would say motor cycle accident because i remember he used to get into tons of accidents.

If there's one thing I learned about Wes, it's that he really didn't hate anyone. And if there was one thing he was good at, it was forgiveness.

Guy was an amazing human being.

Wes was an incredible guide to me not just in fitness but in life as well. During the three months I was on as a trainee with him I reassessed all areas of my life , not just fitness and dietary concerns.

The lessons and techniques I've learned from him will carry throughout my entire life and I know the same goes for a lot of people who knew him. In this way his work will continue to live on. I will really miss talking with him. RIP
