Coffee making me tired, too much?

Is there such a thing as to much coffee? trying to figure out why when I drink coffee I seem to feel groggy and run down and like I could pass out standing up. I drink it basically non stop at work and its not immediate that the fatigue sets in just coffee is the only thing that I have regularly at work.

Is there such thing as to much?
Should I cut it out completely?

Yes, of course. Do some research on caffeine overdose. I don't believe grogginess is a symptom of overdose for a stimulant though. You could be crashing from over-stimulation or a sugar high (depending on what you put in your coffee).

Try taking a week to two weeks off of caffeine completely. See how that makes you feel. It will be horrible being off of it, but when you get back on it, it should all be effective again. Repped.

There is such a thing as too much of Anything.
While drinking it non stop can't be a good idea, I've read in a few places that
in moderation it is beneficial ( moderation = 1-2 cups a day )

I've heard a number of people here say they drink it pre workout.
You should probably start cutting back. I think I'd vomit if I drank it non-stop.
It can't be doing you any good.

Yeah, that's a lot even for me, and I have a superhuman tolerance for caffeine. I'd say you're crashing from over-stimulation.

I always feel so tired I can barely stand, so I figured coffee would remedy it. I am starting to think however the coffee is the reason I am tired in the first place causing a vicious circle.

Agree with other here. You totally need a break from caffeine. You will adapt to any stimulant over time and if your at the stage where your drinking it non stop.... well, this is a good time to stop and give your body a break. You'll find that in a couple of weeks, 2 cups/days will give you a much stronger boost.

    Best of luck,
    Chris

    Hey there

I get the same thing, too much caffeine from any source sends me the other way too- I can't be bothered doing anything, feel groggy, tired etc.

You wont be consuming enough to do anything horrendous to yourself, the lethal dose of caffeine is massive, but it kind of defeats the purpose of drinking coffee if it's making you tired. Opt for decaf, or drink green tea or water.

Happens to me after too much/too long like going on caffeine binges for a few months. It's stressing out your adrenals and causing "Adrenal Fatigue". Caffiene stimulates your adrenals to produce adrenaline..but by overdoing it your adrenals have nothing left to give.

Believe this is the right answer. Overdosing can give you the opposite effect. In any case you should try to do without coffee for at least 21 days, this is a period long enough to let your body understand whether you really need caffeine.
