And Alex does it again. He looks dialed in and for 5'8 230lbs....thats crazy. How long did you have him cutting?

I like long and slow preps to be honest... I really like people staying in close to contest shape but thats not always the case.. The crazy thing is that this guy looks conditioned at 285lbs.. We really ramped up the cardio and prep got serious at 8 weeks out. The more muscle, the more the condition looks "conditioned"

monster, its nice to see the big guys bring great conditioning like that.

Hey thanks Larry and Dan...
Larry knows i dont like people getting sloppy.. So its really a matter of condition not numbers..
Unbelievably this guy can be 285 and hard looking still.. and thats 55lbs over his contest weight... but the average guy who is 55lbs over contest weight is a slob...
The reason is that he carries so much muscle.. This guys legs are trunks and has no weak bodyparts.. calves are like horse shoes too.....I will post more pics...
As far as the off season.. I like people being accountable and working on their prep all year.. Even myself.. I like to train as if the show is on the line all year long.. That keeps you and me progressing and from getting sloppy...
Honestly the better you carry yourself as an off season competitor, the better the result come show time.

Wow, amazing.
What kind of contest dieting do you generally work with? (carb cycling, keto, etc)?

I don't want to try to answer for alex...but ben gum is a good example.....alex never really puts too much emphasis on the scale. When ben started working with him, he was about 245 or so i think, and around 15% bodyfat or so if i had to guess. Now ben is about the same exact weight but ALOT bigger and leaner, same thing with john simone.

Nice Alex you dialed him in great. Great work I'm in Hollywood and one day will make it over to you most likly after the Oct 30th show which want to see how I do without a prep person. Im hard headed but most Plumbers are. I think I can say this after reading a ton of your post but you remind me of Vince Gironda which I've had the pleasure in 91 while I was in The Army on leave to train and meet him.

Ya going to do it had to adjust my diet a bit carbs were killing me from all the years in the Army my body responds to almost zero carbs. My Company is Pipeline Rooter and Plumbing. I'll tell you people don't have a clue how hard Plumbers can work getting under a home and crawling after a heavy ab day is well I'll leave it at that lol I'm going to enter the Novice just because I can lol but will be pushing for the LA next year.

Im friends with Troy myself but he wasnt clearly as conditioned as usual.. Troy has done really well at the USA and has won the overall at the Excalibur and Orange County.
Mike is a total newbie.. Second season competing and never won his class before. He easily took the superheavyweight class...
and he was amazingly huge and in shape to be honest and i dont know how he lost the overall .. it was very very close...
He out weighed Troy by 25lbs and is about the same height.
