dang man, im not that hardcore although i did pre order it.

hopin to get it by the weekend so that i can seclude myself inside and play it.

i got a chance to go to bungie which was effing awesome, and they let me play the campaign mode for a little bit and i must say its really well done and ill deff be playing the campaign as much as multiplayer

Honestly, the campaign provides more play time then that if you play on legendary and work on the skulls and meta achievements and stuff. I think 3 gave me a solid 20 hours or so before I finished up all the single player crap that I wanted to. Not bad, considering I played a lot online as well afterwards. This new one looks like the online is going to be amazing.

And yeah, I'll also be midnight'ing it to get the game and give it some play time.

Im gonna pick it up at release. Never been a big halo fan, thought 3 was garbage. But I liked ODST amd think Reach will be the best of the series.

There is a difference between enjoying a single player game and playing on a difficulty that just makes it frustrating to play. Achievements and the like are a joke to me, such a waste of time. Obviously many do enjoy them though. So yeah, 60-70 for a short campaign is pretty lame regardless of how many achievements you can pile into it.

Multiplayer is the redeeming factor though. But again is not for everyone.

I didn't think Legendary was frustrating to play, it just requires you to clear areas instead of charging in. Turns it into a more Call of Duty type game requiring a strategy to tackle each level. Achievements and such were were along the lines of the meta games where you got a score per level based on how well you did, and could add the skulls to get multipliers. I thought all that was fun little additions that extended the overall time, not really just "joke crap" added in. Sure, I thought the story was short but I wouldn't say I was disappointed with it. Would I have preferred a solid 20 hour campaign, then extras on top? Of course, the story definitely left me wanting a bit more, but I also don't think it was a letdown in anyway. But I'm hoping Reach makes up for that.

That and the more innovative game play like you said will make Reach the best Halo to date IMO. I don't at all regret the money I spent on 3 though, I just wish the multiplayer was a little better (2 and CE both had better MP, in my opinion).

compared to the previous versions of halo, they put A LOT more foucs on the campaign mode in this game. When i was at bungie we were doing a filming for gametrailers TV and thats what the whole shoot was about. Theres gonna be ability to fly in space, new weapons and cars, while still making the multiplayer badass

I don't know if you've ever played the COD games on Veteran or whatever they call their hard mode, but you actually have to flash bang corners, clear areas, etc. Instead of just running in guns a blazing. Yeah, I would call that a "strategy" or a "plan" compared to just run and gun. And I think stuff like that in a game is fun. When I play a game I'd rather not just plow through it, I prefer to have to think and actually interact compared to mindless mowing down of enemies. When I want that I hit up a zombie game or something.

Thats where the difference is. I prefer the more methodical play style required to just run and gun. Run and gun is easy and doesn't really require effort or thinking about it, just requires your time and patience to move through each level.

Yep gonna get already paid for actually, mostly looking forward to customizable firefight, then team snipers when that game type is released. Look for me online almost always down for some Campaign, Multiplayer, or Firefight.
