    Pull-ups/Push-ups throughout the day

I'm Josh. 22/male. 135 lbs-ish. I have never really done much working out at all other than running playing soccer, which I have always done. I am interested in building muscle in my upper body. I just purchased a Gold's Gym Pull-up bar, that can also be used as a push up bar, sit-up bar, etc. I think everyone knows what I am talking about.

I get bored quickly with doing these exercises and can't do very many of any. What I will typically do is throughout the day, do as many pull ups as I can (about 8 :] ) and then do max on push-ups, and then the same with sit-ups. I can feel my muscles are sore as expected. But I do not spend long doing these, obviously since I can't do many. So I will typically do this all throughout the day. Maybe 20 times a day I will go through that routine.

Though my muscles are sore as though they are building, is this as effective as working out in 1 30 minute period during the day? Am I hurting myself by exercising using this plan I have?

I don't have any other equipment and hopefully I will be able to afford some weights, etc maybe in a few weeks.

    Thanks for any responses.
