    *facepalm*

    you ARE sabotaging yourself!

800 cals? Come on girl, you know better. THere are so many ways to sneak in cals. What did you eat for 800 that left you 'so full'?

Add more cal dense things. Nuts/seeds, oils, fattier meats if you must! Higher fat dairy, dried fruits, granola, whole eggs, etc, etc...Space things out accordingly. That helps me tremendously.

You might not feel hungry now, but I can promise you this feeling will pass.

You want results then get those calories in.

I know...I wanna do this the right way...sucks that I have to look for stuff to eat now that won't mess up my macros too much....I'm thinking if I can get up to 1200 at least I'm good...
This is brand new to me...I thought I'd be starving with my calories so low, and it's the opposite...I don't want to end up skinny fat : /

I had more than 800 calories for breakfast today! lol But in all seriousness, you shouldn't go that low on a cut at all! Definitely spread meals out, and as others said eat more calorie dense foods if you must!

I ditto what everyone here has said. I'm very much the opposite of you, lol. I'd rather eat in the higher spectrum of weightloss and maintain my precious muscle and metabolism than such an extreme low. At one point, though, I was eating 1400 cals (couldn't lift due to shoulder injury) and even then that was too low for me.

Lift more! That'll get your appetite going for sure

Try peanut butter with protein powder mixed in - sludge style - to get in extra cals. And as others have mentioned, other calorie dense foods.

But just curious, how much did you eat the next day? Did you go over?

Some days I am so hungry I have most of my cals before lunch time and other days I don't feel hungry at all but I eat any way cause its easy for me to get back in the habit of not eating enough especially if I'm sad/stressed or feeling fat.

I am still struggling with getting enough in...This is really weird....right now I'm only up to 1150 according to Livestrong and will probably have some peanut butter in a bit...I'm just not hungry at all anymore.

I have recently taken a liking to coke zero and i'll have about two 20 oz. bottles a day, if not more. I wonder if this has anything to do with my loss of appetite. Anyone have experience with this?

if you're aiming for 1400, how are you finding it hard to add another 100-200? Thats a cpl spoonfulls of oil on your veggies or something. hell. Cream in your coffee! 100-200 cals is like 2 bites of anything high fat!

drink milk instead of the coke zero and you'll hit your cals. easy peasy. there are other ways too, but that seems like the simplest.

Yes. When I first started I was like this.

The problem is the type of foods you are choosing - at least it was for me.

I needed more calorie rich/dense foods. What types of foods are you eating? What are your macros like?

if you're doing unsweetened, that's super low cal, so it defeats the purpose. good for dieting, yes, but you're looking for easy calorie increases, so... if you're cool w/ juice and would prefer that to milk, try that. or a smoothie. also, just other food substitutions. higher cal veggies (e.g., don't just stick to broccoli or whatever), or if you're doing rice cakes, switch to bread, if you're already doing bread, switch to bagels (my fave is whole wheat naan, actually). and on and on... and obv healthy fats are gonna be a life-saver b/c of cal density, and you said you like pb, so just eat more. you said you didn't have this problem before you cut your cals, so you're probably eating typical "clean," low cal foods, which isn't working for you.

Lift harder. You will be hungry.

Eat anyway. If you're not hungry, then don't wait for your hunger cues.

Make a meal plan, set up your calories for the day BEFOREHAND, and eat regardless of whether you feel like it or not. Do you want to starve?

I'm sorry to ask this, because it's definitely an assumption, but... Are you sad or depressed? If I'm way off, I do apologize.

When I'm sad/depressed or groing through rough stuff, I have a VERY difficult time putting down some food.

Like fitlover said... just eat. If you're hungry or not, just eat every 2-3 hours. Put in the effort. It may actually help you feel better, not just mentally, but physically and emotionally.

Again, I'm sorry if I'm way off. But just take care of yourself ok?

Last time I was really sad (and I dont mean your run of the mill sadness.. but borderline deep depression sad), I probably lost 7 lbs I didnt need to lose. Some days I'd eat like... 1000 calories, maybe less, some days I'd eat 2000-2500 calories worth of ice cream, grilled cheese and chocolate.

It's weird how it works actually. People do different things when they are in different moods. Some people eat more when they are happy (I tend to do that often). Who knows?

Sorry... got a little off topic :\

I do this too, when it is serious sadness or bad feelings. I just don't even feel hungry, even when my stomach is growling. General anxiety/boredom tho, makes me overeat, lol.

It's funny ... 'cause I've always been an emotional eater. When I was sad or upset or angry .. food fixed it. Until a few years ago when I went through a horrible time in my life (split with H, lost some friendships, ended my business partnership, etc.) and suddenly I was so depressed I couldn't eat. I just couldn't even face food ... for the first time in my life I wasn't emotionally eating. I lost 25 lbs w/out even trying.

It was totally a revelation for me ... I'd never been so upset I couldn't eat befor. I have to say that I never want to be there again but it did kick of my weight loss and my move towards healthier eating so at least there's one positive that came from it!

I'm an emotional non-eater as well. I went through bad stuff in 2005 and dropped to 88 lbs. A friend started bringing over Ensure (it was easier for me to drink liquids than to eat solid foods) and told me there was a rumor going around that I had cancer.

1450 is as low as I'd like to go and no higher than 1600...I do cardio,
I was at 1600 to 1800 a few weeks ago and I gained weight after the initial water weight loss. I think I have alot of bodyfat and not much lean muscle and this is why I have to go so low....I haven't had my bodyfat measured but I have a very thick waist, where I carry most of my weight.

I actually was diagnosed with major depression a few years ago. I tried many different meds and either they would work great for a while and then stop, or they would turn me into a zombie. I decided to do without the drugs. I am aware that I sort of medicate myself with food which is why my diet was so atrocious prior to July of this year when I decided to get healthy....it included lots and lots of sweets and carbs.

I've actually felt better since I've started to eat healthy....less ups and downs. I don't exactly feel sad but then again I am very good at fooling myself so you may be right. I don't know what I can do about it though as meds are just not an option for me anymore.

The last time I lost a huge amount of weight in a short time, my husband and I were separated and I was very depressed...food just wasn't a priority...but at that time I would go a whole day or so without eating a thing.

I guess I have some soul searching to do...in the mean time I've been on track today calorie wise....thanks so much for the input guys...this forum has been invaluable to me.
