I'm not sure what forum to put this in, but I"m wondering what you 12 hours night shift workers do to get your workout in..I work 6:30pm to 6:30 pm..I got home at 7 am took a shower then went to bed, today was supposed to be my workout day, but I slept too long and when I got up it was time to get ready for work..so I'm gonna workout tommorow to make up for today..I'm off tommorow, just wondering if you guys either set your alarms to wake up early to go workout or do you workout when you get off of work? Just curious as to how ya'll handle that type of schedule to get some ideas..thanks.

I work long days and have now taken to getting up at 5am to go workout. Given your work hours you could go at 3pm(ish) and avoid the post-work rush.
Problem is, 12 hour work days + 8 hours of sleep (ideally) + 2 hours in the gym (including travel time, etc) leaves **** all time for anything else in life.Bench: 572lbs (https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=9RrAfn0TfkY&feature=youtu.be)

I work 6pm to 6am now. I usually go at 3pm ish. It's really the only time to make it consistantly. When I worked 8 hour shifts at night I would go right after work. But 12's are too much. Not enough gas in the tank to get a good workout in after work. Whatever time you pick make it a time you can make everyday. Consistancy makes it easier

Yes you speak truth there..I think that's what I"m gonna do is just set my alarm to get up a little earlier to go workout and I will just have to push through me being tired..sucks! But it's worth it in the end..I go from days to nights..it switches back and forth and I don't have a problem getting there when I'm on days, but once I switch to nights, it gets tougher for me to do anything.

I have a similar schedual as the most of you, I work seven pm to seveven am as a matter of turth I'm at work right now. I was really tired so found myself a small little corner and dozed off for almost an hour and a half and I will go back to dozing off once one more guests arrives.
I partially live with my girlfriend as well as in my house, both places have a gym right in the garden if you will, one gym is 10 minutes away walking and the other is about 15 min walking so both are pretty close.
I get home at like eight am and pretty much fall flat on my ass, however I still try to wake up at 2:30 PM 3:00 PM so I can actaully enjoy the day with the girlfriend and hit the gym for a quick work out session. However I also work the short and the long week, which is nice.
But today is my 24 hour no sleep day, woke up in the morning at eight messed around went to work and here I am, I was so tired I had to go doze off....

Shift work 12 hr shifts
Yeah, I work shift-work too, 12 hr shifts alternating days and nights. When I'm working days, I go to gym in the morning before work, 3:30-400. When working nights, I get to gym around 2-3:00 pm. I like it, never have problems with a ton of people trying to work-out like in the evenings! But when I work a lot of consecutive days, overtime r something, working out in the morning will drain you. When I get home in the evening, after I bath, eat, and put kids to bed, I'm snoozing myself!

I work from 7pm to 7am also, 4 days on, 4 days off. I tried working out in the morning after I got off work, but then I had trouble going to sleep, plus I felt drained at the gym. I swapped to making sure I am asleep by 830am, sleep until 430pm, and then hit the gym at 5pm. Work out until 6pm, go home, get ready for work, and walk out the door by 640pm. I pretty much only eat at work during the 4 days I work. Working 12 hour days does not leave anytime for anything else. But those 4 days off are great!

Man I must be weird or something. I work nights until 7 am. I go to the gym as soon as I leave work. I try every now and then to go in the afternoon when I wake up to work with the big boys (I train in a hardcore gym for competetive bodybuilders and powerlifters). I find that I end up sleeping to long to go in the afternoon. Still, I try to get in there in the afternoon every two weeks for motivation.
