For the past two months I have been following a strict low carb diet, eating 500 or so below maintenance and working out religiously and the results have been great. Lately though, I've been sick of not being able to eat carbs and have decided to lean towards a more traditional diet with a healthy amount of complex carbs (Oatmeal, whole grain bread and pasta, sweet potatoes, etc.). My calorie intake has not really changed at all, just my macros, but ever since I've began cycling out of keto and into carbs I've felt extremely bloated.
So my question is: Is this something to be expected after coming off of a low carb / keto diet and will take some time to get used to?
Thanks in advance for any help!

Feeling the same when i eat carbs because of 5 months on low-cabrs. With brown rice especially. But with time, as your body adjust to that specific food, the bloating effect will decrease. Recently I've added black bean to my diet and my god do i feel bloated for a good 30 mins following eating those. But i know that with time, my body will adjust and it'll decrease the bloating effect.

Yeah - the bloating I'm experiencing now is coming from a home made chili that has black and kidney beans. I feel borderline miserable.
I don't think I'm overeating carbs and certainly not calories as a whole. In any given day I'll only have half a cup of oats and one more serving of heavy carbs (beans, rice, sweet potatoe) all in a small/moderate dose.

Each gram of carbs can hold something like 4 grams of water. That weight is not fat and you shouldn't be too worried about it.

Same here. Exactly that. 1\2 CUP Oats in the morning (Whole breakfast = 400cals So not eating too much) and one serving of black beans spread across 2 meals during day. Surely not overeating carbs or cals.
Good to know, i didn't knew that but it does makes sense and i kinda knew it seeing how bloated i can feel sometimes when i eat carbs that are new to my body. Thanks!
