At the risk of being flamed, I'd like to tell you that from what I have heard, most vegan bodybuilders report not needing as much protein as meat eaters to effectively build muscle.
Also, at the risk of more flames, many people have sucess with soy. A lot of people diss soy products for their supposed estrogenic effects. But I have also heard from a lot of vegans who are big and muscular that they see no side effects. Tofu and tempeh are good sources of soy protein.
(for all who are about to quote me and flame one thing or another...I eat meat. lots of it. and I dont eat soy. Alright? Just letting this guy know what ive heard...)
