Question about eating and gym time

    Here's the deal,

my new workout split has me working out 6 days a week for a limited amount of time, as follows:

    Day 1: Abs (15 minutes)

    Day 2: Chest/Triceps (30-40 minutes)

    Day 3: Abs (15 minutes)

    Day 4: Back/Biceps (30-40 minutes)

    Day 5: Abs (15 minutes)

    Day 6: Shoulders/Legs (20-30 minutes)

I have to have it this way to maximize my time doing homework and studying. With this, if I continue to eat in excessive amounts (3000 calories or so), would I see fat gain due to the limited amount of time spent in the gym?

    What's this workout?

1 set of squats, 1 set of shoulder press and a few calf raises?

18 sets in 20 minutes?? Also that's a ****ing weak leg workout.

You gain from eating considerably more calories then you're expending. So you're not necessarily going to gain fat just because you're not in the gym for that long, no. Apart from that, weight training itself doesn't burn that many calories.

I did not see that I put 20-30 minutes, that one also takes 30-40 minutes. I'm not concerned with legs at all, just upper body. Do you see any problem in being in the gym for less time? How would this reflect my results?

Be concerned with legs...Developed upper body and underdeveloped legs looks ridiculous.

If you can complete your workout with sufficient intensity in that time then it's fine.
