question aobut food last week of before the show
so what foods should be avoided the wek before a show, i dont feel like vegies make me hold water like some people so im thinking of having steamed broccoli, cabbage and spinach. Iv been on poultry the whole diet and will contiue to stay on it, im going to drop the wey shakes( i have not had insulin spikes with them for the last two weeks) when i stop working out probably wensday.
Anyone want to share what their last weeks contest prepe diet was like. How did you carb depelte and what did you eat whil totaly carb depepting? Im jsut curious as to waht other pepople do to get ready in the last week. IT all aobut drying out and filling up glycogen so any tips?

Im also a week out from my show which is next Sunday. I will be taking this week fairly easy nothing to straining on the body. I will slowly start to drop my carbs tomorrow till they reach zero on wednesday which will look somthing like this.
Meal 1: 3 egg whites +black coffee
Cardio 50 mins
Meal 2: 1/4 cup of cooked oats with 3 egg whites + 1 yolk
Weights 40 mins full body workout
Meal 3: Chicken breast 1 table spoon of brown rice
Meal 4: 185 grams of tuna with small salad
Meal 5: 185 grams of tuna
50 mins cardio
Meal 6: 100 grams of tuna half cup of brocholii and 1 table spoon of flaxseed oil
Meal 7: depends if im still awake but if i am 3 hours after meal 6 i will have another 100 grams of tuna
Tuesday the rice will go
Wensday the oats will go.
Thursday i will slowly start to carb up,
Doubling my oats in the morning
Adding in half cup of rice at lunch
And prol 3-4 bannans through out the day
No real plan for carbing up because i want to see how i look after every meal to make the decsion on what i wil eat the next meal.
Possible a pizza before pre judging but again i will have to see what i look like.
Thursday also i will drop sodium but keep water levels the same and only drop them a couple of hours before pre-juding (Not too concerned about water levels it can be very dangerous to mess with but again i will see how i look).
Its the best feeling in the world being a week out from a show, i dont think ive ever been so focused and excited in all my life good luck for your show i wish you all the best.

I have six days till my competition. I have similar questions that were partially anwered on this thread.
For this last week, I want to load but I am afraid of spilling over. _I had no way of judging what to look for in spilling over because I didn't really understand the concept if that makes sense.
_
With today being Sunday, I was thinking of depleting on Mon, Tues and Wednesday (100/75/50) and then loading (300/250/200 <Thur-Saturday). _
One problem...weigh ins are Saturday night.
Also, since I am cutting my water, weight won't be much of a concern, although it is fluctuating between 174 and 180 lbs. _My bf is about 7%, wish it was lower.
So here are my questions...
1. _Any suggestions on carb loading w/out spilling over for carbs and coming in overfed or flat on Sunday? _On Thursday, I willl consume about 300 g carbs (Yams/Oats/Broc only) Too much for a middleweight?
2. _Will the sugar in bananas be harmful in regard to potassium?
3. _Anyone have any suggestions on my carb/protein ration the last week? _
With the show being Sunday, do you suggest a full body workout Wed night (depletion day)?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.

ont consume fruits at all, they will block muscle glycogone replinishment. I would not carb up untill the day befor the show, and as far a potassiumim not sure when to start taking it, i didnt take any and didnt cramp up.
You are a middle weight , im not sure but i htink you are in the 180's i spilled over and looked soft with eating 1 yam every 2 hours the day before the show. I would advise eatin 1 yam every 4 hours. depelte sodium starting maybe thursday.
Two days is usually eneough time for me to recove from my last workout, but the last workout sould be a brush over, jsut use machines and do them in a circuit. Try to get a good pump, thats all you want , ride the bike for aobut 40 min . PArtice posint every day for a while, it helps me look harder and usually i am sore after a good posing session. Rehurse your routine, go over your quarterturns, and mandatories.
Hope this helpes, if you oanythign else pm me, responces on thsi board are usually slow but what can you expect freom precontest people our brains arnt functioning properly.
