    Angry Pull-up with 50 lbs

    I absolutely hate pull-ups and suck at them now. Used to be able to do 125lbs at 245 bodyweight but I am so weak now. Unreal

    It’s gonna take like another year to get even close to that.

    Front delts actually perform the opposite of the motion involved in this movement.

    Front delts cause shoulder flexion, this movement is shoulder extension. So I’m not sure you know what you’re talking about.

    And yes the weight is heavy for me, it’s a 1-rep max. That’s the intent.

    I know that and that’s why I’m telling you that your form was bad. Your back is rounded and your front delts are pulled forward. If you expect to progress on your lift, I would hope you know that you have to use the muscles you’re intending to use. That’s also partly why the weight feels too heavy.

    I never fully got this scapula down and back business. I try and not round my back etc but when i really pull scapula down and back feels like i'm doing a 'gironda' pull up or something?

    This is how I always did them and I’m not a gymnast. Don’t care if my form isn’t perfect. Care about the weight and it feeling good. Clearly have a long way to go with the weight. Right now my pullup strength is truly SAD!!

    Gironda pull-up uses the same queues but you’re bringing chest to bar with your back slightly arched. With standard pull-up you’re moving completely vertically.

    Fooking pull ups. I'm trying to beef up my max bodyweight reps, but i know i'm springing or bouncing, if you know what i mean. My numbers are going up, but its not dead hang.
