    headaches?

i've been doing keto for about 2 weeks now and for the past few days ive had AWFUL headaches, pretty much constant. i havent changed anything i'm taking, havent changed my workouts, haven't changed my total calorie intake, but have cut carbs way down. can carb restriction cause bad headaches? or maybe its just a coincidence..?

Phasing into ketosis is a rough experience. I felt like crap for the first 2 weeks and kept reading comments about this is normal and it will eventually go away, but I found this hard to believe. Sure enough, by the end of that month my body had fully adapted and I started feeling fine.

First week getting into ketosis I had shortness of breath during workouts, massive fatigue, anxiety, weakness, headaches, and would sweat way more than usual. I would say it was carb withdrawls lol. Now I feel amazing and lift heavier than I ever have. You'll be fine, just make sure you're following 65/30/5

When I upped my fat intake, I could prevent these side effects...

It's simply bc the brain needs fuel and if it doesn't get glucose, it needs at least ketones. You support this by taking in mostly saturated fats until you reach ketosis. Later you can choose whatever fat and how much (balancing).

if you have been doing keto for 2 weeks already then there shouldnt be any room to drop carbs. maybe you havent actually been doing keto? if your fat intake is not very high and carbs are also low then yes it will have bad results. up the fat and drop the carbs, besides green veggies, and it shouldnt take very long to become "fat adapted"

As was noted above, it may be dehydration due to glycogen depletion. Is your urine darker? That's a good indication. Remember, dehydration causes the Kreb's Cycle to be impaired, headaches can be a symptom, similar to a hangover............
