    Should I quit football?

    I was previously 285 lbs, lost weight down to 185, loved the way I looked, had abs for the first time, looked great, then football season came around, coaches bitched at me for losing weight and I'm back up to 258 lbs...I'm really unhappy with my body and life style and want to change but when i think about quitting football I get nervous that I may lose a chance I'll never have again.

    first off you shouldve never put that much weight back on. shouldve said, "coach, my health is more important than football" if they want to keep you they will find a new position for you like as a back or receiver. dont put on weight just cuz your coaches want it, you couldve still played at 185.

    You don't have to quit, but you shouldn't put on weight because the coaches want you to, especially not such a massive amount. Strong cut and rebulk...

    He said he cut to 185. He would have to be at about 2% body fat for your math to be correct.

    Timeline for weight loss was about 10 months to lose 100 lbs, then I bulked clean and went to 195 in 3 months, then my coaches saw my weight loss and made me to get to 245 in 3 months.


    I've decided to quit cause its not worth being fat and unhappy about my body as the above poster said.

    I can still go to college academically and when I'm in great shape by the time I'm 17 I can try to walk on at a school as a skill position.

    What kind of math is this. 1% body fat is 2 pounds on a 200 pound person. It wouldn't be possible for him to be 220 at 10% body fat. If he were at 2% body fat at 185, he'd still be 200 at 10%.

    OP, your health is more important than football. Do what you think is right - if you cut down, there will always be another place on the team for you to play. You won't be able to cut down for this season, but next is definitely a possibility.

    I'm not trolling, go make more ****ty bench videos. It took me around 3 months of eating really ****ty, which is why I became unhappy and quit.

    I liked weightlifting more than actual football, I don't care if I'm known as a " quitter ", I'm doing it for me, not anyone else.

    Man, it's your own body, your coach has no right telling you to put on weight you don't want. Tell him "mister, I won't do it, and you need to lose your gut, **** you". Be happy man, don't let anyone tell you how to live your life.
