I have never liked sweets or sugary foods. But Nutella is my weakness and I succumb to it once a week. I have been sticking to a very clean diet and have gotten amazing results. For the first time since I was 20 I have a 6 pack and I feel great.
I always worry that having my one pig out day (Sunday) will mess up my hard week of workouts and good diet, but it seems to do the opposite. My body seems to lean out even more after I go on my sugar and carb binges on Sunday. I still don't stuff myself with food until I am exploding, but I eat until I am REALLY full and will usually have Nutella crepes for breakfast and pizza in the afternoon with something to snack in the evening. I don't even stick to the 5-6 smaller meals a day rule.
During the week I eat LOTS of vegetables, fruit and chicken breast. I do a lot of whole wheat wraps with chicken breast and I put a lot of vegetables and guacamole in there. Egg white omelets with one yoke and sliced chicken breast.....well you get the idea.
What I can't understand is why I am leaning out even more after each Sunday. I actually don't want to get any leaner, as I am happy with my body fat right now, and overall I think I am stagnating when it comes to it, except for after my sugar and carb binge.
Had anyone experienced anything like this and if so, do you know why it happens. I would be very curious to find out. I am really trying to learn as much as I can about diet, not only for muscle building, but even more so for health reasons.

Perhaps you're losing muscle from lack of protein intake..? Highly unlikely, but possible. Or it may just be that it's spiking your metabolism enough that you're burning more than you're taking in. Probably water weight fluctuations, in fact, it may even be a coincidence. Are you taking in enough calories overall on the cheat ays?

Oh I am definitely taking enough calories on cheat days. I eat a LOT on cheat days, so I don't think that is the problem. And it is not loss of muscle, because I look fuller and leaner on Mondays that I do otherwise. Just throwing me for a loop. Not a big thing, as I am really very happy with where I am at, but with bodybuilding I think the great thing is learning these little intricacies which make it such a great sport.

Depending on what your deficit is like during the week, you could be having a water weight shift due to the surplus of calories. Also, you are likely refilling muscle glycogen as well. And some of its likely in your head.
Also what's this 5-6 rule you speak of? Who made it? How has it been proven? And yes, I am playing devil's advocate right now.Just livin' the dream...

I don't think I am in deficit, but I have a VERY fast metabolism, so maybe by sticking to healthier foods, I am not getting enough calories. I will try upping my calories during this week and see what happens.
The thing is I used to eat ridiculous amounts of food before, and while I didn't have a 6 pack, I definitely was pretty lean while being very big. Now I have leaned out noticeably, but I have also went from 212 to 195.
I am happy at my current size, but wouldn't mind gaining another 5-10 pounds of muscle. Thanks for the advice, will try eating a bit more this week and see how it goes
