Nice benching woodman. This is what I like about the program. You have plenty of opportunities to set PR's, but you don't have to set PR's every session to make progress. Why the lack of depth of the dips, what's up with the collarbone?
Powerlifting Log - http://tinyurl.com/jshaw5
PR's - Gym / Meet
Squat - 510 lbs / 200 kg (441 lbs)
Bench - 315 lbs / 125 kg (275 lbs)
Deadlift - 515 lbs / 217.5 kg (480 lbs)
Press - 185 lbs

Finally watched the bench video, are you happy?
Laughed at the song. Good choice but I'm more of a Material Girl.

Thanks Johnny!
Thanks fella!
Dips always give me a nasty pain in the collarbone area. I'm hoping if I don't take them too deep I can keep them in the routine for a bit
Lol
Wish it was Saturday. There's a nasty stomach bug running through house right now. I've been scared to eat anything since lunch yesterday. Hopefully it passes soonPRs: Back Squat- 410x1 / Front Squat- 320x1/ Bench- 325x1 / Deadlift- 505x1

Fine benching for wk 5 chap! Smashing it nicely.
230x8 is impressive for the last set. Careful with the dips, i did them the other night and my collar bone hurts still and my scapulas are out of line.~~~~~~~~~~

Dips probably hurt because you cant retract you shoulder blades back and down like in the bench. It would be like benching with an exaggerated forward shoulders. I think a big part of dipping is breathing patterns and filling your body with air on the descent to keep everything tight.

One of my buddies suggested the same thing about keeping the shoulders pinched back. Ill pay close attention to form
Thanks fella! Haha glad someone appreciates the 80s as much as me
Grip is shoulder width and I do use a bit of forward lean. There's a vid at the end of my last benching session
What's up mate? How've you been? Still lifting?
Things have been going pretty smooth in here other than a bout with the flu this week
Pretty much All talk and no lifting lol

Friday 12.07.12- Macenko's Week 5B
Get sick and skip workouts, still fit in 2 bench sessions for the week. Fukyea.jpg
This actually went way better than expected. I probably had 4000 total calories between Tuesday-Thursday so I was depleted as hell. I wasn't sure if I'd even hit the required reps today, but things felt pretty good.
Bench
45 x 10
135 x 5
155 x 3
175 x 8
225 x 6
245 x 4
260 x 3 (easy)
260 x 3 (much harder)
230 x 8
230 x 5 (spent)
