An isolate is only worse than a concentrate in certain conditions.
For example, if the concentrate is isolated using the filtration method of CFM (Cross Flow Microfiltration) the important sub-fractions will be retained and the protein does not get denatured (PH stable, low temperature processing etc). The contra is that the processing is very expensive so the customer ends up paying more money for the protein product. There are some other methods of filtering that do end up killing some sub-fractions which is why I stick to CFM when I chose an isolate.
If the concentrate is isolated using the filtration method of Ion-Exchange, I will then avoid the isolate at all costs and stick to a good concentrate anyday. Ion-Exchange method may be 4-5 times cheaper to process than CFM (Cross Flow Micro filtration) but uses chemicals to do the processing (Hydrochloric Acid and Sodium Hydroxide) thus all PH sensitive sub-fractions are destroyed and the protein denatured. Garbage if you ask me. There are plenty of popular brands in the top 10 STILL using Ion-exchange to increase their profit margins.
I prefer isolates over concentrates because I drink protein shakes in high doses multiple times a day which leads to high amount of lactose, not a big problem but discomfort to my stomach and a malodorous contribution to my environment .

It's recommended because its got decent macro ratios, blends easily, taste good, and gets the job done.
I can't see why i wouldn't recommend it.R.I.P. Zyzz, muzzing at the peak of Mount Olympus.

your review of vanilla Myofusion gave me every reason "not" to buy it.

I have to agree with OP. Myofusion isn't ground breaking by any means. If it had a basic taste to it I don't believe it would be getting high praise like it is. The praise mainly comes from the taste factor.
What turned me off from Myofusion and to some it may not be a big deal but if you lable your product with 25 grams of protein per scoop I expect 25 grams of protein per scoop not 21 grams of protein. That to me is bad business as miniscule as it maybe to some to me it's pretty big. That turned me away from Myofusion and onto other options. My training log: https://forum.bodybuilding.com/showthread.php?t=178464441
