How many calories should I shoot for???

When bulking based on my bodyweight?? This is my first time bulking, and I've been really inconsistent with my nutrition. (some days I eat like 1,800 calories, others only 1,400.) I weigh 115 @ 5'7", though I don't think my metabolism is very fast cuz as you can see I don't eat much now. How many calories per pound of bodyweight do you eat per day when bulking??
    5'9" 115 lbs.

Next time you mix up a protein shake, add some chocolate ice cream and whole milk to it. If that's not a kickass bodybuilding shake, I don't know what is!!" -Lee Priest

As you guys know I have many issues with food. How much initial weight could I expect to gain by bumping my calories up to 2300? Since that's like 600-900 more than I've been eating, won't I gain like 4 pounds in one day?? How long does it take one's metabolism to adapt to such an increase in food?

no u obviously dont know how to properly count calories if u thing 2300 is that much.u can eat 2 peanut butter and jelly sadwhichs and a slice of pizza and have close to 2000 calories.gaining 4 pounds(not water weight)in a day is impossible.u would have to not move all day and eat about 16000 calories.

find out how many calories it takes to maintain your current bodyweight, then add roughly 300 to this number.

go 7 days, weight yourself and if you did not gain weight, add 300 more calories.

making too big a jump can lead to digestive problems.
"Pavel calls the idea of training yourself in isolated pieces "Frankenstein training" and I don't think I can come up with a better term. The body is one piece." Dan John

it takes an excess (more than you use) of 3,500 calories to gain a pound.
    Love the pain,
    Love the gain.
