You said everything correctly until the last part. If you feel energetic in your day with 5 hours of sleep, that means it's all you need. You don't need to "make up" for anything, enjoy your longer day! You can go to bed later so you wake up when you *need* to get up.
And thanks, best of luck to you!

Yes it's common, and it can vary from 60 to 120. You can work out how long your sleep cycle lasts, you can do a plan that will last for a week where you go to sleep at the same time everyday, do the math for the sleep cycles and then make an average.
I found out my precise sleep cycle duration that way.
Good for you! It's either gonna be 4 or 6 though, I'd stick with the 6 .

So Agumon, after knowing all this you now always get a great night of sleep and don't feel tired/sleepy througout the day anymore?
I really hope I can crack this. I'm a person that really needs a good night of sleep to function properly throughout the day. But it seems I have rarely ever woken up at the perfect moment when the cycles end. I am absolutely not a mourning person, but one day I woke up at 5:30 after about 9 hours of sleep and I felt so energized and my eyes wouldn't close anymore lol. I wish I woke up that way every day.

Sounds like this Sleep Cycle from Iphone does everything for you.
Is there any other device like this out there? I don't feel like buying an Iphone just to be able to use this Sleep Cycle thing.

Guess the time you take to fall asleep. I usually take 10 minutes, roughly.
Or take a clock / watch into your bed and keep looking at how many minutes have passed (while trying to fall asleep), keep remembering this... In the morning you will have the time it took you to sleep recorded in your head.
Alternatively, you can always get someone else to time you.
Remember though, 90 minutes is only an average. Plus, I hope you meant 'additions' of 90, and not "multiples" .
Heh, I assumed that from your "Location", I'm guessing you just live in Germany then?
Yes, I always get good sleep and never feel tired anymore. And you say you woke up after 9 hours of sleep and felt great... How many hours do you sleep through usually? Provide me with more details so I can help you out.
P.S. If you learn these things, you don't need any app to help you at all.

No problem man, if you got more questions, ask away!
Good for you, keep it up .
Eliminate disturbances and try again. If you sleep for 10 hours and wake up naturally + feel great, that'll mean you have just ended a cycle. You most likely won't need as much as 10 hours, so subtract 90 minutes from that the next night and see how you feel in the morning. You gotta experiment with these things, it's always different for everyone.
In my above posts I gave instructions on how to find your sleep cycle duration; read it and try it .
No, because in most cases people don't need 12-13 hours of sleep. If you do that, you're just repeating cycles on empty and not doing anything useful. Reduce the amount to around 8-9 hours; if you feel fine, reduce it further and see how you feel. The lower the better, since you would save so much time in the day.
Thanks for the support bro!
Create a calm, cool, quiet & dark environment, make sure you're warm under your blankets. Grab a bite to eat before bed too. When lying down, put your arms flat on your bed, parallel to your body, so that the blood flow is supported. Sometimes people masturbate to help them relax the muscles and sleep.
Apart from that, I always find this very helpful; get into your usual sleeping position, shut your eyes and force yourself not to move at all. After a while you'll just fall asleep, this always helps me if I'm having trouble. Best of luck!
