    Thanks for the very informational post. Yeah, I've always wondered why people say that our body needs 7-8 hours of sleep yet sometimes even if we sleep for 10 hours or more, we're still worn out when we wake up. Thanks for sharing a very detailed explanation. It was really helpful. Hey, any tips on how to have one complete sleep cycle?

    This explains while I only get 4-5 hours of sleep and feel great when I wake up.


    Anyone that has problems with sleeping, I would suggest taking melatonin right before bedtime.

    So how can we apply what's been learnt here to how we sleep? How can you figure out how much time you need? If you go to bed at 10 and wake up at 9, how do you know how long you actually slept for (time spent awake before falling asleep)

    I have an app for my iPhone which uses all it's sensors while you sleep to measure where you are in your cycle, and then after recording several days' worth of data it can be set to wake you within a certain time-range whenever is most optimal. It works really well, I've been super impressed with it!

    Thats really interesting. I think this would be really hard to do for me though because of school but I was wondering. Maybe you could go to bed earlier so that you didn't have to be woken up and therefore would follow the proper sleep cycles.
