Ok what i did was wrong, technically. But most people dont even get arrested for such a small theft. I dont understand why they would even waste the courts time for this. CA courts are so backed up as it is, and their going to waste time on someone who stole $8 worth of ****. Im hoping the judge thinks the same way, and with my clean record, being a student and employed maybe theyll give me a break and bring it down to community service or something.

No, they don't. At best buy, we didn't call until they had already left the store ignoring us asking them to stop or they were in our little back room. walmart may call right when they see something, but even then, cops cant teleport. if they are in the right place at the right time sure they might be at the door waiting, but unless you take your sweet time leaving, you could easily make it out.

Umm? You stole something. You broke the law. Stealing from others is wrong. You knew what you were doing.
You didn't get arrested, you were detained. Did you get booked into jail? Did you spend a night? You got a ticket. Pay up.
Be glad you weren't in Desoto county Mississippi, mandatory 30 days for shoplifting.
Also, you didn't NEED FUCKING GEL INSOLES! A baby needs food to survive. You wanted gel insoles. Enjoy paying a few hundred bucks for them, you fawking sissy.

This is for your own good, what is walmart going to gain from 200 dollars? wow big deal. You're lucky people are wasting their time to teach you something so valuable here. The lesson i hope you will learn is how to make the right decision, even when you're aching from work or tired from school, its never worth giving into petty temptations. Be a man and stop begging for everyones sympathy and forgiveness. Be a man and pay for what you did, walk away proud for paying for your crime and knowing you are a better man for it.

Its not about how much the amount its bro . Its more about preventing future theft. I used to be LP/Inv supervisor and we would call the cops on everyone no matter what they stole. Once prosecuted a guy for stealing candy .. it was like $1.50
You see if they let you go with a warning you would be more likely to try and steal again thinking you will only get a warning. Now you know they dont play so next time you wanna steal from wall mart you will think twice.

true story. got caught stealing twice. when i was 14 my dad would always take me to costco. i used to rip open the computer games and steal them. i did this and walked around the store with it when a guy stopped me and said "i saw you put something in your pocket i need you to come with me." they took me in the backroom, found my dad, and banned me from costco for life. my dad also ****ed me up when i got home.
another time was recently. it happened when the giants played the packers in the NFC championship game so it was like 3 years ago I think. I went to buy some food and eggs and didn't have enough money for face wash. my dad was parked waiting outside (didnt have car at the time). as I'm getting rung up I see a guy come outside of this door and look all shady and he sat down on a bench near the door. As I was about to head out he was like hey i need you to come upstairs with me. i was like wut. he's like I gotta talk to you come upstairs with me. at this point i knew i wasn't gonna get away with it, my dad was outside waiting, i was getting ****ed either way. cops came, my dad inside, and i got away with it. i think cause my dad was white and talked nice to the cop (Srs).

STFU you stole something and deserve every bit the punishment you received.
If they gave you a slap on the wrist and acted like it was no big deal because it was only $8 you would be encouraged to steal again in the future. Bet after this ordeal you'll never shoplift again.11B, NASM CPT, CFL1
