hehe thanks for the love all, 8 months and over 110lbs lost into my cut, still got lots of work to do though.
I don't know about muscle conservation, I had no nutritional or work out knowledge when I started... I just started slow and then went crazy lol.
basically my first 5 months were:
day 1: Upper body - 60 min + 9.2mile walk/jog
day 2: cardio - 60 min + 9.2 mile walk/jog
day 3: Lower Body - 60 min + 9.2mile walk/jog (there wasn't much to do lower body so I would do like 2 different exercises and cardio for the rest of the time lol)
day 4: cardio - 60 min + 9.2mile walk/jog
day 5: Upper body - 60 min + 9.2mile walk/jog
day 6: Cardio - 60 min + 9.2mile walk/jog
day 7: rest
rinse repeat. my 9.2 mile walk was mapped using www.mapmyrun.com which tracked my weight, speed and my time. on average 9.2 miles would take me about 1 hour and 40 min.
I was eating 1800 calories during this time, and I was not tracking any macros, not even protein.. I just lived by "eat less, move more / calories in, calories out"
I was losing around 15-20lbs a month. during this time I lifted moderate weights, or lighter weights with high reps (50lb curls x 25, no rest, 50lbs tricep push downs x 25, no rest etc etc) also between circuits I was running on the treadmill instead of resting.
I had the perception of everything should be burning calories, I didn't know anything about burning muscle as fuel or anything else.
I am much more educated now thanks to various online sources as well as the community here at bb.com, my weight loss has slowed to about 8-10lbs a month now instead of 20lbs, but I have less to lose and am lifting heavier (check my log in my signature if you want to know what I am doing in my routines now), I am also eating 2000 calories a day with about 190-220 g protein spread over 6 meals.Progress Blog:
