1-2g of L-Cit would be equivalent to about 3-4g of Cit Mal.
Agreed that Arginine is fairly useless pre workout. L-Cit and Cit Mal are awesome for endurance and pumps. SuperPump Max, Hemavol, and Body Octane are some of my favorite pre workout cocktails that take advantage of Citrulline. If i were you OP, i would look into either one of those, or some bulk Cit Mal powder. It's cheap and easy to mask the flavor.http://www.haleo.com/
