i know I've trolled misc in the past, but this is an actually serious thread where I will rep.
I'm about to press the call button on my phone to a girl who was in one of my classes last year that I want to ask to minigolf.
I'm not sure how to phrase it. Is it beta to say "hey this is John. how has your summer been? Good. Well, I was wondering if you wanted to go minigolf with me this wednesday"
I don't think I've asked a girl out over the phone before, its always been text
Would that be fine?

chat her up via phone or messenger, flirt with her a bit, THEN ask if she wants to play minigolf or some other **** that you can tell that she is interested from talking to her. Like if she says "oh i have been spending my summer being a loser and stalking x celebrity" then you see if that **** is starring in a movie and ask her to see that.
Don't take life too seriously. You'll never get out of it alive.
I reciprocate reputation.

Ok here's the break down
me: "hey this john, is this Ashley?"
her: "ya. hey"
me: "how's it going"
her: "good"
me: "yah I'm calling because I'm going minigolfing wednesday and *voice starts to studder like a retard* I thought that you should come.
her: "ok sure I don't think I'm doing anything"
me: "ok I'm thinking four-ish"
her: *sounds confused* "four-ish?"
me: "yeah like four"
her: "yeah I can understand." *sounds sarcastic* (i really thought she didn't understand)
me: "ok its at islands mini golf. you need a ride?"
her: "no i got a car"
me: "ok cya then"
her "cya"
Ok I need advice. What if we get there and start golfing and it gets boring or awkward?
How do I keep things flowing and fun and chill and cool and all those good adjectives?

I'm gonna give you some advice to always keep in mind for future reference. Always assume women are going to flake out on a date. I'd lay a few hundos that this date will not happen because "something" comes up.
Next time, build some rapport before just randomly asking some chick out on a date you haven't seen since last year.

man now I feel like I messed up. I think I will be ok though, because she seems even more awkward than me (yeah, I know that might be hard to believe)
But i think it might work because we are both the super smart book worm quiet awkword type.
So its not like I'm going for the girl that is really social and outgoing and stuff.
This could work.
Going to eat dinner post your thoughts.
