Latest Pic Update! :] Please gimme some feedback, I love hearing constructive criticism or anything that will be beneficial.
Here's another one I noticed. Pic on the left is from September 2010 (didn't really lift legs...), Pic on the right is from April 10, 2011 (started lifting legs in January-ish). I'm liking the progression of my quads :]

All these transformations are so inspiring. It's so hard out in the "real world" because there are so many people, close friends even, who always talk about needing to lose weight and they never do, and just make excuses. It's hard to be around that all the time but seeing all you amazing women who have made the change lets me know that I can do it. Great job!

Just keep thinking to yourself that you are only bettering yourself. I love when I see myself eating a grilled chicken salad with like brown rice or something on the side and then I look to the left and see a girl talking about trying to lose weight-yet she is stuffing her face with nachos or a burger with curly fries? hmm...
Keep staying positive and motivated! Remember this will only benefit you physically (good, nutritious food = healthy body systems) and mentally (high self-esteem, just being happy with yourself overall.) Gotta love yourself.

thanks!! :]
umm...well i'm trying to build lean muscle while doing fat loss. I haven't put on any weight really, i have lost weight or toned up in my trouble areas though. I'm trying to build my shoulders and now arms since they are lacking...i just lift heavy for all of my lifts with also some higher reps within the workout.
my legs can get muscle quick! it's my upper body that doesn't (except my back i'm assuming.) Shoulders and arms won't work at the pace i want them too :[

I know what you mean. My shoulders were way smaller than my hips and my thighs. I was told I needed to build my back and my shoulders up to make up for the difference because well, it wasn't looking all that great. I got my shoulders to grow, my waist is trimming down and my hips are even a bit smaller. My thighs are a little bit smaller but not much so it's up to my upper body to get the proportions right. And that's a lot harder to do than the lower body.

Coming along...3 month progress
Sometimes I have a hard time seeing the physical changes... But I think over 3 months I can definitely see improvement. My strength gains are much easier to measure! I still have a long ways to go, and I'm struggling with excess skin/fat on belly from having kids, but I think by the end of the year I'll be happy with my body.

I think it's just genetics. I started lifting heavy about a year ago and my body fat is down a lot. My waist (where I carry like 95% of my fat) is several inches smaller but my boobs actually got bigger. I'm only 21 so it's possible they were still growing, or maybe there's muscle underneath now that I can't see, but I went from probably 21-22% bf with 32Cs to maybe 18ish% bf with 32Ds.

Wow, you all have made such incredible progress! I am very inspired.
I am pretty new to Bodyspace, but I have been on my own health journey for a little over a year now. The first attachment was at my highest weight, about 165 give or take. Then the second two were both taken recently. I am currently at 137 pounds. My body fat % is a little high..well, average actually..but this summer I am going to kick myself into the best shape possible! Hoping to obtain some killer abs while I'm at it.
P.S. The first attachment's filename is kind of upsetting. When I saved that picture on my computer I know for a fact I wasn't very happy with the sight, resulting the "ew"..
I am happy to say I no longer think "ew" at the sight of pictures of myself!

What’s in a year?
Its been almost a year since I started training after the birth of baby#2. I’ve been training primarily for strength...followed Bill Starr’s 5x5 from Dec to April. When volleyball season started, I added in some HIIT that I did w/ the vball team I coach. We had to cut our gym memberships to save some $ when life threw a curveball and one of my sons had to be admitted to the hospital. (He is fine now.) Instead of throwing in the towel and stop training, my hubby and I switched modes to sprints and plyros on the beach coupled with playground fitness...lots of work on the monkey bars. Anyway, here is my progress. I can’t believe it myself!
Through most of it my weight didn’t not fluctuate at all. I maintained 140 lbs. Since we started the sprints and training on the monkey bars, I’ve lost 3-4 lbs.
Great work and progress to everyone on this thread! You all are awesome motivators!"Good character is more to be praised than outstanding talent. Most talents are, to some extent, a gift. Good character, by contrast, is not given to us. We have to build it, piece by piece -by thought, choice, courage, and determination.” -H.J. Brown
