    How much water gains should you expect to gain on a bulk?

    I'm bulking and trying to minimize fat gains, my weight has gone up 4lbs in the past month. I've read that most people can only gain 2lbs of dry muscle per month, how much water weight do you gain with every lb of muscle?

    After coming off my nearly zero carb cut, I've gained 12 pounds in the 2 weeks I've been clean bulking. Unless your binging, assume the sudden weight gain is water and not fat.

    it varies a ton from person to person. some people barely gain any water, some gain kind of a lot. you also gain some fat usually. if you're gaining more than 2lbs a month, a lot of it is probably fat and water.

    Really hard to say since the amount of water I'm carrying is almost indistinguishable from fat. Maybe a couple of pounds? I'm certain though if I went low carb for 3-5 days I'd drop most of the weight.
