He makes a valid eye-opening point. Let's read what you have to say.

that is untrue. He specifically said he wasn't comparing it to the holocaust. he said he was comparing the journey a nation takes to attack ethnic or political groups through fear and hate. so he is comparing the u.s. to germany, not the jews to the arabs. you must've done poorly on the s.a.t.'s cuzzzzz
i think it was brilliant

People don't seem to understand that the
1. VAST MAJORITY OF AMERICANS BELIEVE THEY HAVE A RIGHT TO BUILD THE MOSQUE/COMMUNITY CENTER THERE.
AND
2. VAST MAJORITY OF AMERICANS BELIEVE IT IS WRONG FOR THEM TO BUILD THE MOSQUE/COMMUNITY CENTER THERE AS IT IS INSENSITIVE.
We agree with their right to build there but believe it is insensitive an don't want them to do so. It has nothing to do with the analogies that Kieth Oberman is saying.

3. VAST MAJORITY OF AMERICANS BELIEVE MUSLIMS SHOULD BE WIPED OFF THE FACE OF THE EARTH OR AT THE VERY LEAST REMOVED FROM THE U.S. BECAUSE OF THEIR GENERALIZATIONS OF ALL MUSLIMS BEING TERRORISTS.
Srs. Your post is stupid. There is nothing insensitive about it, it's not even in view of Ground Zero.
And this thread is a repost.

I hate these talking heads that go on and on reading too much into this whole issue. This isn't some grand scheme where Americans have some deep seated hatred for anyone or any religion. It's just inappropriate to build a giant mosque at ground zero. Period. Any rational thinking person can understand that. If the builders are really interested in making a community center to promote tolerance, they'd build the mosque somewhere else.
Unfortunately, political correctness overwhelms rational thinking.
BTW, Keith Olberman is the biggest douche on TV.

it IS a mosque, brah. why else is there a floor (the top floor) devoted strictly for prayer? are you kidding? Why did they include this? Is it because a few nearby Mosques are over crowded, with worshipers spilling out into the street?
Edit:
the more appropriate term is "9/11 Debris Field Mosque". It's not at ground zero. It's in the debris field. there u go.→ 92b
arguing with a socialist is like arguing with a religious zealot. it's what comes from having a more feminine, emotional mind, rather than a masculine rational mind IMO.

But it was dere before so it's ok guise. Herp derp.
As has already been stated, it is a 13 story community centre that will have basketball courts, culinary schooling, and a prayer space on the top 2 floors. They included it because it is being built for Muslims - what is wrong with Muslims being able to worship in the place they play and learn?
What exactly it is is entirely irrelevant, anyways. Muslims are not the terrorists, the terrorists are Muslim. There's been all sorts of attacks by various religious groups within the United States - why aren't any of their churches and religious buildings being complained about?
