EDIT: UPDATE!!!!!
"UPDATE::: Well, now according to her mom and grandma, she tried to kill herself, and has done it before. Her oldman and her both lied to me and said that she never did this before. I was only trying to help and I was misled. I do feel that hospitals need to better inform families what is going on. I called and apologized to the hospital, and will pay for their door."

uuuuh.....
If they decide to sue that hospital is screwed. It doesn't matter how sick or derranged a patient is the employees of a hospital have no right to detain paitents especially if the family is there trying to take them away.
and that "security" dude was using too much force. I work in a hospital and unless the relative had a knife and was threatening people or something they have no right to even touch you.
When patients leave without the consent of a doctor is called leaving AMA (against medical advise) As long as they have the paitents information (SS number etc) they are still getting their money for her stay in the facility.
The hospital staff done goof'd in that situation.

What a bunch of white trash psychotic ass holes. I feel really bad for the kids. Stupid ass woman is using the kids as an excuse to not man up.
Pro tip: This is not the way to handle your unhappiness with the hospital.
"lets go press charges, lets go press charges" Charges of what? She signed an agreement to be there, dumb ass.
Apparently the crazy white trash dad went for the black man's taser. I'd have thrown him to the ground too.

yes there's paperwork but those are all formalities. I'm not sure where that hospital is but if your family comes into our hospital in California and trys to physically remove their relative there's nothing you can do about it.
It doesn't matter if the paitent is in ICU hooked to drips and tubes if the relatives want them to leave then they can leave. The Charge nurse then fills out an AMA (against medical advise) leave slip and puts it in the patients file that file is sent to medical records where they are billed for any amenities they may have used and that is the end of the story.

Totally makes sense. Glad someone knew exactly what can and can't be done. Guarantee this family will have some news coverage and couple people are gone from in that hospital. I don't believe the family wanted to leave without paying, they just wanted her out of there so they didn't have to pay anymore. Also weren't planning on not paying, but that's probably what the hospital's going to say.

no one even read the story...
she has epeliptic seizures and she had one while cooking. she cut her arms while seizuring and they took her to the hospital to be checked after having a seizure. then the dr. decided she tried to commit suicide despite them telling her she had a seizure. The hospital is probably hugely fukt here and that guard might be looking at battery charges. He's luck the guy was beta and didn't break his face.

Even in a military hospital the doctor following major surgery wouldn't stop me from walking outside to smoke. He knew it was good to be up and walking, and if the incentive to do it was to go smoke so be it. (difference in the military is he actaully could have ordered me not to smoke, but there is no equivalent in the civilan world to that)
