Is Greek yogurt like cottage cheese ... A slow releasing protein source?

Should I eat it post workout or before bed?

It's fine, also if you'd rather have a meat source rather then Whey post workout that's absolutely ok, hardly makes a difference. Why people would rather drink powder then eat meat is beyond me.

While yogurt has a low GI, it has a high insulin index. It really comes down to personal preference. It can be a good addition to a PWO meal as well as bedtime meal. Really makes no difference as long as you are hitting your calories.
