I keep seeing things posted about how the science behind regular eating is now a myth.
Is this true? I can't help thinking it's all false as eating a good quality meal every 2-3 hours makes sense to get the right nutrition and keep the metabolism high.
I've even seen articles like this: http://www.leangains.com/p/my-transformation.html
where it says about fasting to lose weight.
It just doesn't sound right.

Eating every 2 to 3 hours and high metabolism I believe is a myth. Eating smaller meals makes you not bloat up, keeps you full so you don't binge, get hunger pangs, get all your cals/macros. can you imagine if you only ate 3 meals a day and you had to hit 3500 cals.... Talk about stomachache.
The real reason behind eating every 2-3 hours has to do with blood sugar and insulin levels staying balanced. Dropping and spiking insulin levels can promote fat storage.Last edited by typh; 08-26-2010 at 01:25 PM.
