    Body fat scale

    Can anyone reccomend an accurate bodyfat scale? The bioelectrical ones to be exact?

    Those scale are not very accurate at all, I use mine to track trends but that's it. An example is one hour I am 25% BF and the next hour I'm 30+.
    If this were easy, everyone would walk around ripped.

    I like eating, it helps with the not dying.

    So basically i need to figure out how to use those calipers? Is it hard to do?

    Those can be even more off. The most accurate way of measuring bf is dexa scan and those ain't cheap. Heres a sticky that goes over body fat:

    Forget about measuring bodyfat...


    You can tell if you're making progress looking in a mirror. Calipers aren't super accurate anyway and it's easy to get obsessed with the minor fluctuations.

    If you're that interested, go take a water displacement test now, and in 6 months.

    Im really not that interested in knowing. Seeing as im overweight someone suggested I find out so i figured id ask. Glad to know that it isnt something i HAVE to know I feel as though the mirror would be best for me anyway. Thanks guys for the answers!

    If you measure yourself at the same time of day each time, they can be decent for tracking trends - I test myself first thing in the morning with mine - it under-reports my bodyfat, but it's consistent in readings, so good enough for tracking trends.

    BF scales are pretty cheap these days (I paid a tenner UK money for mine - less than $20 for US people). So I don't see the harm in getting one just out of curiosity.
