    Squatting right with long legs

    So because I'm about 5'11", but a lot of my height comes from my legs (I have kind of a short torso). I suppose I have some of the "ectomorphic" qualities. Is there anything i should know in order to perform squats right? I'd honestly rather not resort to the leg press just because of having long legs.

    I feel your pain. I have very long legs too and it's very difficult to do atg squats without rounding my back(which sucks since I already have an injured lower back/pelvis).

    One thing that has given me much greater improvements in my squatting ability is stretching the hip flexors and the hamstrings.

    I also do a stretch where I lay on my back and pull my knees to my chest, which helps a lot too. Basically stretch a lot and that will help tremendously =)

    Thanks man! that should help, i'll def try it next time. and its not really painful for me, just that i sometimes have to round my back a little bit.

    thanks! i definitely do think that a wider stance has helped in the past. hopefully that will put just as much emphasis on the quads.

    i over 6 foot, and i have no trouble squating.
    just stretch often and make sure to warm your knees up well.
    just live with it you arnt even that tall (nor am i)
