    Bulking diet for carb-sensitive lifter?

Diets rich in carbs cause me to gain a lot of weight and it is very difficult for me to stay lean while on a high carb bulking diet. I use keto to lean up in the summer, but I cannot maintain keto during the schoolyear because I find it hard to focus. Are there any set in stone rather low carb diets that will allow me to bulk?

1.5g protein per pound of lean body mass.
1g of carb per pound (PER POUND)
rest of the calories are fats.

I think that would have a negative effect on insulin levels, protein synthesis activation, and bringing my body out of starvation after sleeping.

Maybe try having a majority of your carbs for breakfast, pre and post workout then taper off throughout the day. I know that I'm kinda carb sensitive but when I dropped them too much I had no energy...

if your carb sensative, then carb cycle. example below

    1 day highcarb 300g
    3-5days low carb 150-100g
    repeat

on low carb days, you can either keep your protein/fat content the same....or if you wanna play with it, increase your fats to give u the extra calories u lost from taking half+ of your carbs away.

That's a good idea. I tried carb cycling before though and it included a no carb day and I maintained my weight though. I'm not too sure why my body reacts like it does, seems like it wants to store fat and not gain muscle haha. I think I may just try ketogenic with a surplus and see how my performance in school goes.

As long as you meet you minimums for protein (1-1.5g/lb) and fat (.4-.5g/lb), the rest of your macros can come from wherever. Try .6g/lb fat, .8g, 1g, etc. See what ratio of carbs/fat you end up doing best with. It doesnt have to be Keto or 300g carbs. Energy is energy.
