    5x5 workout

This week was my second week of 5x5's for DB bench, Dead lifts, squats, and military press. I kept the same weight for every exercise and attempted to improve my reps. In each and every exercise I completed all 5 sets of 5 where the week before looked something like this for almost all of them

    Set 1 = 5 reps
    set 2 = 4 reps
    set 3= 4 reps
    set 4 = 3 reps
    set 5 = 3/2 reps.

I'm very happy to have completed all sets of 5 this week. next week i will continue with the same exercises for my sets of 5, but move up 10-20 pounds in each exercise.

Not too bad. My lower back was sore from the deads.

Today I moved up 20 lbs for my set of 5x5 of dead lifts. I did so thinking that I would only be able to complete the first and maybe second set of five. However, I was shocked when I completed all five reps in all five sets. My strength gains have been out of this world the past few weeks. Can't wait to try some heavier dead lifts next week.

No 2 mile run this week, just 25 minutes on the stationary bike.

    5x5's continued

Over the past few months i have switched my workout up quite a bit in order to continue to use muscle confusion for gains. However, I am doing 5x5's right now and continuing to make nice gains on a weekly basis. I am going keep going with this current workout plan until my gains begin to taper off.

I am still making great gains with my 5x5 workouts so I am going to continue with it. This is my last few month progression with weight/reps on dead lifts. I always go to failure unless I reach 5 reps. When I have a week where i complete all 5 sets of 5 of a given weight I move up in weight the following week. I guess this week I should have moved up more than 20 lbs.

    Final Pictures

    Leah,

I wanted to ask your opinion about something. We are nearing the date to post final pictures for the NO Beta/Creadyl Challenge and I am trying to decide which route to go. I am very happy with the results that I have achieved thus far, but am considering doing a peak week like bodybuilding competitors do before competitions. This would involve sodium/carb depleting and loading in order to really fill out my muscles and decrease water retention under the skin. What I wanted your opinion on is whether you think this is a good idea or if I should stick with a more natural look that I currently have. I have worked incredibly hard and I have been extremely dedicated to my meal plan, workouts, cardio and avoidance of alcohol. I want to do everything I can to increase my chances of winning this challenge and am really hoping you might be able to help point me in the right direction with this decision. I am also wondering if I can take and post official pictures the week before the carb/sodium load/deplete as well as after. I have never done a bodybuilding competition and don't know how the carb/sodium load/deplete will turn out, but kind of want to give it a try to see. Any input you have on this would be much appreciated.

    Thanks so much,

    Tyler

From what I've read, more bodybuilders have had health issues from the extreme measures taken at contest prep than steroids. Playing with your bodies hydration levels with carb/salt depletions and dehydration supplements can be very dangerous. If you decide that you are going to do that, be very careful.

    Back/Biceps day

Again, I am shocked at the strength gains I continue to make. Every time I increase my weight on dead lifts I don't think I will get through all 5 sets of 5 and I do. Today I put on 315 lbs and banged out all 5 sets of 5. Only two months ago I couldn't finish 5 sets of 5 with 235 lbs. It's amazing what a few good supplements, good eating, and not drinking will do for your body.

    Finish Touches

I've been putting the finishing touches on diet, exercise, tanning, and posing for my pictures. I am going to have them taken on Saturday. I can't believe that it's almost been 16 weeks already. The time flew by. I should also be posting my final review of the last 16 weeks sometime over the weekend. Check back soon.

    TJH0089's Double-T Transformation Challenge Review

TJH0089’s Review of Double-T Sports Creadyl/NO Beta Challenge

WOW!* That is the only word that I can come up with when I reflect back on the last sixteen weeks of my life in which I have been participating in the Double-T Sports: Men’s Body Transformation Challenge.* There are so many positive, exciting, will-power testing, and mind blowing moments that I have experienced throughout these four months that it is going to be difficult to put into words.* I am truly proud of what I have accomplished both physically and mentally and I can honestly say that I wouldn’t have been able to do it without this inspiring challenge, the three Double-T Sport’s supplements that I used every step of the way (Creadyl, NO Beta, and Test X6), and most importantly the support of my beautiful wife Liza.* *

My journey began a little over a year ago on my 29th birthday when I promised myself to get into the best shape of my life by the time I turned 30.* Unfortunately the school year (I am a teacher) came and went way too fast and even though I was working out on a consistent basis, I was eating poorly and probably drinking too much on the weekends.* Before I knew it the school year was over.* I started the summer off with the right intentions, but weddings, bachelor parties, and other summer events always seemed to be centered around food and alcohol.* At the end of the summer I took a trip to Nashville, Tennessee which definitely put me even further away from my 30th birthday goal.* I ended the summer having gained 13 pounds and let me tell you it wasn’t hard earned muscle.* Fortunately, the day I got back from Nashville I was looking on www.Bodybuilding.com and came across just what I needed.* It was an advertisement for a body transformation challenge in which the last day to enter was the following day.* I made a decision right then and there that I was going to make some serious changes and do everything within my power to win the challenge, get into the best shape of my life, and turn my life around.* The next day I told my wife that I was going to quit drinking, start eating very healthy, and enter a competition.* Her response was a surprising one.* She actually said that she was worried that I would be crabby without having alcohol as a stress reliever.* I think that a lot of teachers use alcohol as a means to relieve stress after working with teenagers and their daily drama all day everyday.* Unfortunately I was no different, but I was going to be and I was going to make my wife and my students proud of me.

As a former high school and college athlete as well as a physical education teacher I am fairly knowledgeable about resistance training programs.* I have lifted weights on a regular basis since I was about 14 years old.* Finding a weight training routine to help me with my goals was definitely not going to be the biggest challenges in this stretch of 16 weeks.* I decided to vary my routines often in an attempt to continue to confuse my body and never let it adapt to the same stresses week in and week out.* I would usually change routines every three to four weeks and incorporated everything from German Volume Training, 5x5 training, and circuit training to using drop sets, super-sets, and rest/pause sets.* It didn’t matter what I was doing, every week I seemed to be getting stronger and at the same time losing weight.* I increased my squats from 245 lbs. for 5 sets of 5, to 295 lbs.* My dead lifts went from 235 lbs. for sets of 5 to 315 lbs.* Every week when I increased the weight on my exercises I thought it was going to be too much, but I would power through the sets and wish that I had added more, it was a tremendous feeling.* The only issue I ever ran into regarding my training was a lack of motivation at the end of a long school day.* This is where Double-T Sports really came to my rescue.*

Teaching is a great job, but eight hours of constant interaction with high school students can be very draining.* However, not once did I let this worry me.* I knew that as soon as my teaching day ended, my supplements were going to give me that much needed boost.* Every day after I released my last class I would take six NO Beta tablets, put in my attendance and grades for the day, and then right before I headed up to the weight room I would drink my delicious lemon/lime Creadyl.* Every single time whether it was my first serving on my first day or my most recent serving 16 weeks later I was ready to hit the weights and hit them hard.* My pumps were amazing, my vascularity was incredible, and my energy always seemed to come from nowhere when I didn’t think it was possible to summon any.* I usually had so much energy that I would do about 25-30 minutes of cardio after my weight training just to burn some of it off.* I can honestly say that I did not have one bad workout while using both of these products and there is no way that I would have been able to train on a daily basis after a full day of teaching without the aid of these supplements.* They will for sure be a staple in my supplement regimen from here on out.* I also want to mention the third Double-T supplement that I used called Test X6, which is a natural testosterone booster.* I was somewhat skeptical about this product after reading people’s reviews that commented on the great sleep and vivid dreams it provides.* Well sure enough the reviews were right.* Every night I took Test X6 my head would hit the pillow and I would be out.* Every morning I woke up felt like I was awaking from a deep hibernation.* I felt refreshed and ready to tackle whatever the day had in store.* All though this supplement was not part of the challenge, I would recommend it to anyone looking to get a great night sleep.* You will feel well rested and we all know the best time to recover from a tough workout is while we're curled up in our beds.** **

With the weightlifting and cardiovascular exercise not much of a hurdle because of my motivation to hit them hard and the supplements to assist me, I turned to attacking my diet.* I knew that this was going to be the single biggest factor that I had to improve on in order to get the results that I wanted.* Could I quit drinking? Could I stay away from pizza and bacon cheeseburgers?* Could I do it all for 3 months?* The one word answer was YES, and I did.* With the amount of weight training that I was doing 4 days a week and cardio 6 days a week the diet just fell in line.* I had made a decision to do something and I stuck to it every step of the way.* The only thing that I feel bad about is the amount of chickens that were sacrificed along the way in order to help me reach my goals.* Egg whites and chicken were two of the biggest staples in my diet.* I usually ate 7 moderately sized meals a day.* All of my meals consisted of a lean protein source like chicken, fish, eggs, lean beef, or a protein shake;* a complex carbohydrate like oats, brown rice, or a sweet potato, (except at night when my carbs were limited to vegetables) and a healthy fat source; usually natural peanut butter or almonds.* I didn’t stray from this diet for a minute and I have actually come to really enjoy it.* I want to also thank my wife for helping me cook all the time and suffering through all of the salt-less, pizza-less, pasta-less dinners with me.* I am proud of her for that and actually don’t think she minded it too much in the long run.* Lastly, I am also happy to say that I have not had any alcohol since this competition began and at the moment I don’t plan on going back to it.*

    * I have enjoyed this challenge more than I ever thought I could.* I thought that it was going to be a purely physical journey, but it turned out to be so much more.* My self-confidence is at an all-time high, my wife says that my mood is actually better without alcohol, my students love to ask me how much I bench and what workouts I do to look the way I do.* There is even a rumor going around school that I am a mixed martial arts fighter on the side.* It feels great to be the PE teacher that the students look up to and want to be like.* We call the department that I work in “The Life Fitness Department” and now I can truly say that I know how to teach fitness for life, but more importantly I know how to live a healthy and fit lifestyle.* I know this is just the beginning of an even longer journey and I can’t wait to see what I can do over the next 16 weeks.* *

Lastly, I want to thank everyone that supported me during the last 16 weeks, especially; my wife Liza, Double-T Sports, all of my students and co-workers, and all of the people on the bodybuilding.com forums and websites.* I couldn’t have done it without all of you.*

    Thanks again.
    Sincerely,

Thank you so much. I feel great and it was a great experience. I'm so grateful that Double-T had this challenge or I don't think I would have had the motivation to do it. Funny graphic BTW.
