Waking up feeling dehydrated every morning and still peeing a lot at night. HelP!

Freakin' pisses me off! (no pun intended) I know this past been posted a lot before, but I thought I would give better details about my situation specifically.

For this reason, I haven't had a good night's sleep in years (I'm almost 22). During the day I drink about an average of .5 to .7 gallons of water a day, but I stop my water intake after 7 pm. I usually eat dinner at 6 or even earlier. The only liquids I have after that is a SMALL glass of water after brushing my teeth (because the toothpaste makes me feel a little dehydrated), and a cup of milk mixed with casein protein 2 hours before bed. Sometimes I'll take ZMA right before bed. I also take a whey shake with creatine after my workout. Other than that, my diet is pretty clean in terms of intake for sugar, cholesterol, sat. fat, and other things. Eggs are probably the "unhealthiest" thing I eat in that respect, but that's only for breakfast. My usual for dinner is baked chicken, whole wheat pasta, and broccoli. I seldom eat cookies, but if I do, it's usually like 2 small cookies after a meal.

So that's my general diet throughout the day. The problem is that I usually wake up around 5 am to pee. Sometimes it's as early as 2:30 am, but if that happens, i'm still getting up at 5:30. Then again at 6:30 (having no additional water after I wake up the first time). After that, I can't really get back to sleep because my brain doesn't want to, or my dog gets up and starts barking because i have to feed her. But at least I can score about 30 minutes more of sleep, so ultimately getting up at 7. It is here when I feel really dehydrated. Mouth feels very dry.

Although I go to bed fairly early, at 10:30 or 11 (no friends or social life lol), that means nothing because my sleeping is interrupted so easily. Combined with my massive dehydration upon waking up for the day, I feel very tired throughout the day. If I lay down somewhere for a bit and not be careful, I may just end up taking an hour nap.

OK, so my problem isn't that extreme, but it's very consistently annoying. As far as I know, it's happened like this every night/morning in the past couple of years. There was this one time I woke up feeling "perfect", but that was some time in 2007. I had no idea why I got lucky there, but I would argue that things have gotten progressively worse year after year.

I was considering seeing a doctor about this, but my dad says people like me are the reason health insurance premiums are so high. But I'm only 21, and I'm way too young to have to be getting up in the middle of the night several times and then waking up feeling dehydrated. That's usually something that happens to people in their retirement years. This is one of the things in my life affecting me mentally and I feel it inhibits me in so many places. If something is wrong with me, I'd like to find out so it would be easier to figure out how to solve the problem.

Any suggestions on what I should do? Has anyone been in this same boat?

    Thanks for reading...

If I don't masturbate for a while, I become even more restless and without the release, I get huge inhibitions because that's all I can ever think about.

I started taking creatine in the end of 2007. I usually take it every day after each workout, but there were always weeks that I did not take it at all. Compared to when I took and when I didn't, I didn't really notice any changes in sleeping behavior, but maybe I wasn't aware of them. Do you think there could be a correlation here in general?

I didn't mean in regards to sleep, I meant waking up feeling dehydrated. It has that effect on me at least. And then certain times of the day I get really dry throat. And it seems to correlate with how long you say the problem has been occuring. Just something else to keep in mind.

I'll wake up in the middle of the night needing to piss, and my hands feel really dried out. It's weird. I have no advice for you, but I hope someone else does. I don't see how one can simultaneously be pissing multiple times a night and feeling dried out.

The combination of creatine and zma does this to me. It's one of the reasons I stopped taking creatine. There were times I would wake up 4 or 5 times a night. I still take the zma but my recommendation is to take it 1 hour before bed rather than right as you go to bed. This will allow your body the chance to flush some water wieght before your already asleep.

I changed two things that helped me. Finished my water intake way before bed time (maybe 4-5 hours) and moved most of my carbs to PWO which is shortly before bed. At this time my muscles seem to fill up and absorb most of the water and I have not gotten up to urinate (well maybe a few nights) in months. I think in general you just need to finish the water intake several hours before you sleep, go to a doctor, or suck it up and pee.

Yeah it's the creatine. It does that to me except I wake up like an hour or two before my alarm clock, pee, and go back to bed.

Oh and I forgot to say I added creatine after I was already having sleep problems but before I made the water/carb adjustment. Hmm so I think half of the population has that weird symptom from creatine.

I've been having that problem too, I wake up about twice each night and take a piss, yet i always wake up thirsty!
There was a period of time when I stopped drinking protein shake after dinner, and that really stopped me from waking up at night.
But this isn't really an issue for me so im back doing it again. lol

I have this issue only a lot worse, and had it before I took creatine. Creatine didn't change symptoms at all. I piss 1-2 gallons at night, waking up about once an hour or so, and feeling dehydrated with dry mouth every time I wake up. I went off supps for about 9 months when this first started happening last july but being off supps never changed it. Still, it couldn't hurt to drop supps and see what changes.
    A million miles away - I don't.. feel.... anything.
