    plyos and sprints

    i have a soccer trial for a new team on thursday and i want to do some sprints tomorrow for fitness but at the same time i want to keep up my plyometrics routine. so can you tell me is it alrite to do a plyos session and a sprint session on the same day as i want a complete rest day on wednesday. thanx

    If your question is "should I do plyos and sprints on the same day as my tryout" then I would say no. If you get done with the tryout and feel that you did not get any work in then sure, but not before.

    Have you been using a sprint routine up to now? If not, I would use caution about implementing sprints and jump training right before a try-out. May lead to unwanted soreness and leave you worse off then before.

    I would do a light warm-up with some low intensity jumps on Tuesday i.e. 2-3 x 10 pogo jumps, 1-3 x 10 skips for height, then follow up with a couple starts out to 10-20 yards in length with complete recovery. Think of this as a tune-up session.

    yeah thanks for the replies, i havent been doing a sprint routine so i did this workout in the morning and my legs are fine now and also ven33 no, the day of my tryout i wont be doing exercises like these. thanks
